UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016

Published

Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

Hi @shasbus I was actually talking to one of my friends that went to UTHSC at Houston and is now in anesthesia school, and she said that MD Anderson does something like an internship so you can have some experience once you get out of nursing school with your BSN. The she said that the program is called Professional Student Nurse Extern (PSNE). There is a summer program gut I think there are some that are during the semester.

Here is the link:Professional Student Nurse Extern (PSNE) - Summer Program | MD Anderson Cancer Center

There is a year round program; I just checked.

great! thanks @bryanv

I just wanted to let everyone know that I HATE WAITING! That is all....

I just wanted to let everyone know that I HATE WAITING! That is all....

me too!!!! hopefully only about a month more or so of waiting!

Hello everyone, did everyone receive their transcript evaluation yet? I haven't received mine and I'm starting to get worried...

Same here. I emailed them about it almost 2 weeks ago and haven't received a response. Have you tried calling?

Well my first acceptance letter came in from another school.... the wait for uthsc is killing me!!! Why couldn't my first choice answer first ?!?!?! Lol

Isizemore2015 where did you get accepted??

I called but all they told me was that the registrar's office was still going through all of the applicants.

I got accepted into UH! It's my second choice. I would much prefer UT. We shall see!!

I just got accepted to UH as well. I actually forgot about my application there, thinking I did not even complete it. UH is my 3rd choice after UTHSC and UTMB. It seems that UH tuition is very high - $26K, and I think 11 months is way too fast.

@shasbus I completely agree. And from reviews from previous students it seems quite tough. Not that any nursing school is easy; but going that fast seems to have an adverse effect on some. Good luck to you! I hope you get one of your other choices!
