Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!
I wonder how many people applied?
Hi 147nataly. When I spoke with the advisor a few weeks ago she said for spring 2016 they have a little over a thousand applicants. But she did say that out of that amount they will usually only have about 400-500 which are truly complete and therefore considered for review. Hope that answers your question.
Hey gmar_3,
I would probably just contact the main number to the SON and speak to a BSN counselor. I'm not too sure about who to contact because I haven't received one either. From what I've read, some people get one or even multiple while others may not get one at all but it doesn't play into whether or not you get accepted. Sorry that I'm not much help! Hopefully someone who has already recieved one or has already contacted someone in regards to their own can point you towards a better direction.
I received an email from admissions yesterday asking if I submitted my hesi scores, and if so, if I remembered the date. After I responded, she thanked me and said "I wanted to make sure that the scores I have are indeed for you. This is great, your application is being reviewed by the admissions committee." Has anyone else received an email like this? Made me worry that they didn't receive my scores or that they could have gotten switched. I made a 94, so I hope that wasn't the case! November can't come fast enough!!
That's awesome. Just knowing you are in the running and there weren't any mistakes must feel great! I have taken a break for a little bit and have loved reading all of your posts. Some days it doesn't cross my mind but others I stress, BAD!
If we are lucky maybe in 6 weeks we will find out :)
Hi there. I have 94% on Hesi too. no emails yet. I am not in Texas atm. I was wondering if anyone knew from attending open house events or talking to folks at the nursing school... Do they have any internships during school? I know that some BSN programs have them. I tried calling "advisors" but they do not seem to know a whole lot...
