UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016

Published

Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

@Bimtoy

You definitely have a chance if you already submitted your application!

TWU's application is still open. You would have to take the TEAS V and be admitted to their main campus in Denton.

UTMB's application is now open for Summer 2016. It closes Oct 15 and you would need the TEAS V for UTMB too.

Good luck

Hey everyone! I applied to the Spring 2016 semester too...good luck!

I decided to apply to this program only a few days before the application deadline, so I only had 4 days to study for the HESI, which is why my scores are just average. Wish I had more time to study...

ANYWAYS, here are my stats :) (no judging!)

OVERALL - 87%

Math - 92%

Vocab - 92%

A&P - 80%

Reading - 88%

Grammar - 92%

CT - 870

Cumulative GPA - 3.4 (I'm taking 5 classes this fall to finish my pre-reqs, so this may change for the better...or not)

Science GPA - 4.0

Also...I haven't received a transcript evaluation yet so I'm hoping I'll get one soon, if I even get one.

Great Stats! IDK if I would have done as good as you if I only had 4 days. Good luck!

thanks! it's was hard but definitely doable!

Just wanted to send out a reminder to all that the deadline for summer transcripts is coming up (Sept. 1st). So if you still have transcripts missing be sure to double check. Good luck to us all.

Are you talking about summer classes we took this summer and the deadline for those transcripts? Or the summer 2016 application?

Hi Valxoxo7. I am referring to those who are applying for spring 2016. For those who are applying for spring 2016, we have until Sept. 1st to submit any last minute transcripts. Hope this clears up what I posted earlier.

Gotcha. Thanks!! 😊

Hey y'all, I've been following the thread for awhile, and just spying I guess! :) I'm getting super nervous, and cant imagine waiting all the way till NOVEMBER to find out if we made it in or not.

My GPA is ~3.6 and my science GPA is 4.0 (I'm taking Microbiology now)

As for my HESI:

96% overall

94% reading

92% grammar

98% vocabulary

96% A&P

100% Math

920 Critical Thinking

I hope we all get in and succeed in the program. The thing that worries me the most is that when I went to college the first time I was not a great student, and while none of those classes should figure into my prerequisite GPA, those reviewing my application will see I was not such a serious student (17 years ago!). Since Ive gone back, Ive done so much better, but I'm still worried. I would really love to go to UT for nursing school!

Best wishes to all of you and thank you for sharing so much information!

I hope they just pull the classes needed for the degree, If so that brings my overall GPA 3.65. Praying and keeping fingers crossed!

Hey guys! I'm a senior at UT SON in Houston. If you guys have any questions about the program, feel free to ask. I was in your same, anxious, position this time last year. I completely understand the agony of the wait.

Hi @Courtney.C ! Thank you for offering advice to us.

What were your stats for the HESI and GPAs? And I'm taking pharmacology at Lonestar College now, so do you think that will help for the pharm class at UT? I heard it is a beast.
