UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016

Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

I just got my course evaluation yesterday. My music appreciation class did not count as my fine arts credit. I am going to contact them about that. What course did you guys take for the fine arts credit?

I took survey of modern art/art history. Hoping I receive an evaluation soon. Do you mind telling me when you turned in all your application materials? I'm anxious to know a time-frame of when I should expect that eval!

I turned everything in by Aug. 4. My application was already completed by June 26th, but I was waiting for my transcripts to be sent. If it turns out they don't count my course I am hoping I can just take a mini semester during winter and have the class done. I just hope it's not too late and this is IF I get in.

@147nataly I took ARTS 1303 (Texas common core number and abbreviation) I think the numbers should be the same for HCC.

I have an issue with my transcript as well, I've left a couple of messages and e mailed, and I haven't gotten a response :( let me know if you reach anyone @147nataly!

No contact yet. Do you guys know if you have to be core complete before entering the program? If you are missing one class, will they let you take it while you are in nursing school?

You don't have to be core complete just need to have 40/60 hours with at least 8 science hrs. You must have all 60 hrs completed before the start of nursing school as they wont let you take any once you are enrolled. Hope they get back to you all soon regarding the transcript evaluation, I have yet to recieve one!

Also, sorry for being so MIA guys. I've been following thoug just not posting much. Trying to work on patience over here and doing anything possible to keep my mind off of waiting to hear back lol. Good luck everyone hopefully it won't be much longer! Congrats to everyone who has been accepted to other programs.

Yes like Jmarg said you have to have your 60 hours completed before January :)

How do we know if the requirement has not been complete? Some of my classes say 'satisfied' and others say ___hours required even though I have a grade under it. Help please!

Hi everyone! I am new to this thread and I also am waiting for an eval. October is so near, and according to other posts, we should receive our acceptance/denial letters soon, so good luck to everyone.
