This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)
I'm applying with the following stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.21
Science GPA: 3.66
Overall GPA: 2.81
I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)
@Gillty Just a note on the CT: The book that warning-sign sent out to a lot of us (he can send it to you or I have it) has some critical thinking questions in it. While the questions on the actual test are different, it will give you a good idea of how good your critical thinking skills are (IE do you think like a nurse?). If you see one of my earlier posts I explained in detail what the questions on that portion are like. :)
@Taylorxteddy, Well thank you for that i did see where Warning-sign sent the CT out but i haven't seen anymore post with him so i didn't ask, but if you could send it to me so that i may get some kind of idea, [email protected] and i also read on other blogs the fundamentals of nursing was a book to get as well. Thank you for that information. You guys are so helpful!
It seems that the tsi thing stays the Same they told me many times it was ok, just a remainder if u were planning on PV they require u wait 30 day between takes or they don't accept ur app, my friend found out the hard way
If you retake the HESI you have to wait thirty days from the first test date or scores from the second time are not considered, my friend failed a portion and had to make the choice between PV and UT and he picked UT
Omg! You just saved my life bc I wanna retake the hesi but theres no openings until after sep 1(deadline for uths) so since im also applying at pv i was gonna take it like sep 5 or something but now im gonna wait! omggggg!
I don't think so. I think you can submit your application at anytime, and then start sending in everything. The deadline is right around the corner, so I would send in the application now.
At the open house we were told to submit the app before anything else. They said this would create some sort of file that they could add your transcripts and HESI scores to so they wouldn't get lost. the fact that they tell you that can happen is a bit scary lol...
Hi everyone! I'm new here, but am freaking out just as much as you guys! So glad I found this! I am still waiting on UT to process my transcripts...Ugh! The anxiety is going to kill me!
