I've also thought about taking the Teas to give me more options but what to study? i'm hearing its easier than the hesi, then i'm hearing it's harder then the hesi. I haven't taken either one so I cant say, but it would be nice to know what to kinda study for, for both.

Prairie View A&M Prospective Students (Spring 2012)
Hi you guys stated that PVamu does first come first serve and you have explained that for me.. But however, since I have chemistry left next year in the spring and there deadline isn't til March, they still wouldn't look at me? I'm just asking because I don't want to be wasting money and time sending them things only to get decline in the Fall.

UTHSC-Houston Fall 2012 Applicants
hi guys i'm applying for the fall as well but now I don't know, because of this semester. I have one more semester left but when it comes down to the wire everytime, I start having anxiety attacks and worring about my gpa. I take my Hesi the first week in December, my current gpa is 3.67 and my Science gpa is 3.333.. not so good. I still have Chem, Stats, History 1302, and Intro to computers Just in case I don't get in there I can appy to PVamu... My head hurts so bad it's about to explode.. I have considered the Respiratory Care program as a back because of the not getting in the first time around. I try to manage to keep a good gpa with a full time job, and being a full time mother of a 10yr old and 2 yr old, but it's getting harder and harder.

Yes they do ask for work history on the application, because when I filled mine out, it asked for the work history and job title.

UT Health & Sciences Houston... # Game Now?!?!
@Hemphia, I'm taking fulltimem, actually over the recommended hours for a fulltime student, fulltime employee and fulltime mother of a 10 yr old and 2 yr old. I take 15 to 16 hours a semester in fact. This semester I have 16 hours, but next semester will be the only semester since i've been in school where I have had a 12 hour semester. Thanks for the information, I really didn't know that, that's good information.

UT Health & Sciences Houston... # Game Now?!?!
Hi guys i'm a Fall 2012 Hopefull as well. I went to the information session and it seems as it's all about numbers when I attended in September. I have next semester to go then i'm done with all my pre-req's, I truly want to get into UT- Houston but i'm going to apply with PVamu just in case. My gpa is a 3.63 lacking 9 classes, I haven't taken my Hesi yet, its scheduled for December and I am scared out of my mind because you can only take it twice in your history of UT, so. Yeah that's heavy on my mind. They have sent me my utlink id number and i've been checking my utlink for my transcript eval, which I haven't seen yet.

Prairie View A&M Prospective Students (Spring 2012)
Hi I have a question, when you guys say first come first serve, are you saying finish and completed with all your pre-req's before they look at you, or first to turn in all your information for that application period. I am applying for fall 2012 but still have 4 classes left to take and my hesi is not until december, do I bother applying in march? or wait til the spring of 2013. Could someone explain there process to me.

RT VS RN
hi taylorxteddy, i think why i am beating myself up is because i haven't taken the test yet, you know, you fear the unknown, and even though i keep hearing people say it's not that hard the teas is harder, 1) i'm not a big test taking person 2) ut-h only allows you two attempts ever in your life time to take the test, that's scary! i understand weeding out the people who don't cut it, so it's really nothing to play with. i think getting over the hurdle of taking the test and applying to the program is the biggest fear i have. it's like i have everything planned out or mapped out to the t. that me not making a high enough score on the test would throw a rock in my path. i truly want to be a nurse, it's so funny how things are in your reach but it feels like your going in slow motion to reach it. i really want to thank you for your insight taylorxteddy. thank you again.

Hi Taylorxteddy I am applying for the Fall 2012 start because I still have 4 classes left, plus i'm really scared of this Hesi Test. I have not taken it but I didn't want to rush the second time around taking the test if I did bad the first time. I was going to take a semester off to study some more for it just in case I didn't do to good. I haven't considered the ADN program because in a sense I felt like I would be going backwards instead of forward, because I would still need one more year after the ADN program to get my Bachelors. I'm not sure of my chances because I haven't taken the Hesi test yet. So far, my gpa is 3.636 but that is lacking 6 classes. My heart is set on Nursing but I'm starting to have doubts, plus I can't stand my job where I am to. I guess I was trying to have something in place just in case I didn't succeed the first round, does that sound crazy?

Hi, I'm currently taking all my pre-req's for nursing and plan on applying for the fall BSN Program to UT-H and PV. I currently work now as a full time pharmacy tech, have been for 11 years now. I want to apply for the Respiratory Care Program at San Jac, just until I get into the BSN program, is it worth it or should I hold out, I have gotten mixed reviews and I am totally confused. I only wanted to do this as back up plan to nursing, but now I don't know if I should do it at all. Please help!
