Hello friends!

I'm creating this as a communication board for new students/applicants to talk on about:

  • Current GPA -- science & overall
  • Requirements needed to apply
  • HESI test requirements
  • Applications -- status or general info
  • Acceptance!

A quick intro-- My name is Maira and I've followed previous threads on here and I love how much information you can get from it! (I followed and read ALL of UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016)

I'm applying at UThealth for the nursing pacesetter program for Spring 2017. The application is due by Aug. 15 and I haven't submitted it yet because I haven't taken the HESI! I'm getting anxious about taking it, have any of y'all taken yours yet?!

Also, I've been meaning to stop by the school and see if my pre-reqs meet their requirements. I'm a bit confused on whether they will average 2 scores of the same class or not. For instance, a long time ago I took a English course and got a F (I was careless and young) and now I retook it and got a A. Another thing that I've been wondering about is what exactly the 5 hours of "electives" are-- will they accept a math class for it?

Well I look forward to meeting all of you!!!! Good luck!!!! :inlove:

Where has everyone taken their pre-reqs?

I'm taking micro & Chem at San Jacinto community college. My other pre-reqs are from UT Austin where I got my first degree.

I checked myUTH and they finally dropped the HESI off of my to-do list, but TSI and transcripts are still on there. To my understanding, the transcripts will remain on the to-do list until all required admission pre-reqs are completed with final transcripts sent it. From past threads, I noticed people were accepted with transcripts still on the to do list if they hadn't completed pre-reqs.

Same here. I'm so glad to see something off my to-do list for a change. :)

woohoo! just checked and my HESI fell off my to do list also!

at least I know they didn't lose my file or anything :)

I really want to know if they will accept all my credits though.....if I have to, I will take classes in the fall if they don't take them...but I have to know.....

I was accepted into the Fall semester, I can maybe try to answer some questions :)

I took my HESI the day before the application deadline and they received my scores on time. I took my HESI before finishing A&P 2. The A&P portion was a lot of A&P 1 material and common sense. I used the purple review book, and studied about a week before. I just brushed up on areas I hadn't used in awhile - grammar, vocabulary, etc.

Also, I never received a transcript evaluation, and didn't until about 2 weeks after my acceptance. Doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason why some students receive one and some don't.

Thanks for sharing and congratulations on getting in! Care to share your stats?

Overall GPA: 3.5

Science GPA: 4.0

Hesi: 90%

CT: 800

For anyone who didn't get the email- the new application deadline for Spring 2017 is Sept. 1st.

I am not sure how I feel about that......more time for more competition to apply :(

But of course....that means that I have time to submit my updated transcript with the grade for the stats course I'm taking right now....So far, so good, my grade should be an A.

Then the only pre-req I will have in progress is Intro to Ethics (for philosophy). And the Chemistry I'm retaking since it has been over 25 years since I've taken it.....

I hope this doesn't push back the notification dates.

Have they done this in the past?

Hey guys, what userID and password did you use to apply and how did u get it? i cant seem to figure that out.

Guys I took the HESI today, I cannot believe what happened to me.

I studied and studied, got a 100 in math, 100 in reading comp, 98 in vocabulary , 100 grammar, 900 CT and a whooping 64 in A&P.

I took the HESI 2 years ago and got a 96 in A&P.

I studied a whole lot and felt very prepared, but I swear the questions I had were just plain EVIL, there was no straight forward answer for any of the questions.

What should I do?? Can I retake the test like, tomorrow? Is that allowed? Has anyone retaken it and UT took the highest score?

I wanna cry!!
