UTH Cizik School of Nursing Spring 2021 (Pacesetter)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I found this forum last night and figured I would create this for anyone who wants to discuss the pacesetter program for Spring 2021. The application deadline will be here before we know it! I will be taking courses at San Jac this Summer to finish my pre-reqs ( a lot of the unfortunately ). Hope everyone is staying safe and taking this time to prepare as much as possible. I had been volunteering at Methodist but unfortunately that has ceased for now. Post anything you’d like here!

It’s definitely insane. I just prefer not to do a test through ProcterU. I find online proctoring to be very distracting and I can never concentrate. Plus I’ve seen people have issues with getting scores sent when not using the UT code. I just want to be safe than sorry. If I was going to take it more than once I’d definitely do a trial run with another school.

I unfortunately but the bullet with HCC since HBU did not get back to me about their testing site, however I paid for the TEAS yesterday at HBU and so far it hasn’t been cancelled

crossing my fingers they don’t so that I can do in person HESI as well should I need to retest

Just got an email that my HESI was canceled due to covid. ? I had scheduled it through Prometric for July 8th in Houston. Now IDK what to do ?

Try applying to lone star or HCC to do it online through proctoru? I know you have to have a student id for both

HCC is adding more dates for proctorU right now they go up to Monday but they have been promoting it on facebook

its $75 with HCC, less with lonestar though

also my TEAS has not been canceled at HBU, try HBU? They have dates opened for the HESI as well

Really? No wonder. I was going to plan on retaking my HESI and I didn’t see any dates open. I got a good score but I wanted to retake it since I didn’t take critical thinking for TEXAS A&M and I’m also taking V1.

I scheduled for late August with UTHealth code and Prometric. Dates might still be available (in August) and I havent gotten any cancelation.

Okay thanks guys I’ll try that

UPDATE: HBU testing finally replied to one of my many emails, they will be testing in person for HESI and TEAS just at a lower capacity. It is also cheaper than Prometric

Do we have to apply to general admission first, then the nursing admission for UTHealth? Also, is there any advisor that we can talk to about the whole application process?

No there’s just one application for the pacesetter program. You can email them about specific questions but in my experience they can take awhile to respond (if at all). You can post questions here as well and I’m sure people on here are glad to answer. I attended the most recent info session.

hi everyone! if we are reapplying, do we have to re-submit HESI transcripts and other academic transcripts or will the registrar’s office be able to use what we submitted last time? thanks

So, I was able to take the HESI today through HCC via ProctorU. I am, however, a current student of HCC (I’ve completed all of my prerequisites through them), so I’m not sure if you have to be current student of HCC to take the HESI under them, or if you can take it through them if you indicate that you are planning on applying to one of their programs.

On a side note, I ended up with a 95% cumulative on the HESI. I just wanted a minimum of 90% for each of the sections, which I got, so I’ll take it ?

Fingers crossed for everyone!

Does anybody have information on how to take the HESI at HCC with ProctorU I can't find any information on the website. I just got an email from Prometric saying that my exam has been cancelled.
