UTH Cizik School of Nursing Spring 2021 (Pacesetter)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I found this forum last night and figured I would create this for anyone who wants to discuss the pacesetter program for Spring 2021. The application deadline will be here before we know it! I will be taking courses at San Jac this Summer to finish my pre-reqs ( a lot of the unfortunately ). Hope everyone is staying safe and taking this time to prepare as much as possible. I had been volunteering at Methodist but unfortunately that has ceased for now. Post anything you’d like here!

Hi there! I’m also planning on applying for the Spring 2021 session. I’ve competed 51 of the 60 required prerequisites, and I plan on taking the other 9 (4 of which are the four science labs) over the Summer. I’m waiting until after May 1st to see if/when HESI Assessment locations will open and offer testing dates. I haven’t studied for the HESI at all, so I’m going to try to a Summer date to allow some time to prepare. Have you taken the HESI?

Hi! I’m looking to apply for Spring 2021 as well. Just an FYI, I just signed up to take my HESI on elsevier’s website, and there are about 3 Houston testing centers, and the only dates that are available are July, I’m guessing all of June is sold up. I planned on taking it late June but all that I could select was July!

They may have some HESI dates open up after May 1st according to the UTHealths Registrars Office.

So we should check back on Elsevier May 1st? I went on there earlier and they didn’t have any available!

That’s the way I understood it. The woman just said that May 1st there should be additional testing dates. So, I am going to login on the 1st to see if anything populates.

Okay thanks. I will also check May 1st!

I will be taking quite a bit of pre-reqs this Summer (A&P 1 & 2, Psychology, Philosophy, Nutrition). I will only need to take Chemistry and Microbiology in the fall. I have just received the new HESI admission assessment review guide from Elsevier (so I’ll be studying that through May and June). Will try registering for an exam May 1st!

Yeah, fingers crossed some exam dates open up tomorrow. To be honest, that wasn’t the original purpose of my call, I just threw it in there last minute, so I wasn’t writing it down, etc. I called to find out if they would except online lab courses taken over the Summer as schools in the area are offering online only for Summer semester. The woman I spoke to said they would only accept online labs if taken in the Summer; if taken during the fall, they had to be done in person to be accepted.

So, I just logged in to see if any exam dates had populated but it is still saying that none are available. I'm going to check back later today and if by Monday, it is still saying the same thing, I'll try to get in tough with the Registrar's Office again.

Checked today (May 1st) and it says none available for HESI exams. This is probably going to be a huge mess for everyone to get things together. I can only hope it results in fewer applications being submitted LOL. San Jac has changed all my Summer courses to online (including A&P), really hopping that means it’ll be easier than in class work. But who knows ?

Please post on here if you get in touch with the Registrars office!

This most likely applies to the HESI as well, which is probably why the only dates that I seen were July. But I’m not too sure ?
