UTH Cizik School of Nursing Spring 2021 (Pacesetter)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I found this forum last night and figured I would create this for anyone who wants to discuss the pacesetter program for Spring 2021. The application deadline will be here before we know it! I will be taking courses at San Jac this Summer to finish my pre-reqs ( a lot of the unfortunately ). Hope everyone is staying safe and taking this time to prepare as much as possible. I had been volunteering at Methodist but unfortunately that has ceased for now. Post anything you’d like here!

I work for UT and there is a UT fitness center. It is near student housing though (about 2 miles from the Nursing building). I know employees have to pay a small monthly fee to use it but am not sure if it's included for students.

Its included for the students, the shuttle goes there from the school and the cheapest parking lot if there at $40 a month

@DontWorryBeHappy @mlowery thank you for the info. @DontWorryBeHappyyou're so knowledgeable ?

I have been pondering what else I can do help my application this Summer. Along with HESI scores, nursing GPA, and science GPA, is there anything else they look at? Do you get an interview? Do they review your resume/experience? Any feedback is appreciated.

Hey!! Hope everyone is doing well. I was wondering if anyone knew if cizik accepted their AP general psychology credit for the gen psych prerequisite?

I saw they do accept AP credit for prerequisites, but not for science courses so I wanted to double check.

thank you!!

It's hard to say ... I'm in the program now and we don't really know how people are selected.. they say their most important HESI area is A&P... you only get two tries at the HESI... if you can get in the 90s it would probably benefit you with a higher A&P .. but who knows??

Hello,

you said you were in the UThealth program. Could you tell me what your experience with the school has been? What are the professors and classes like? How are the clinicals? Do you find the program to be well organized and that it prepares you well to be a nurse? Do you also think that being at UThealth helps with building connections and networks with the hospitals in the TMC?

I know this is a lot of questions. I am trying to decide between UTMB and UTHealth, but am leaning towards UTHealth because it will be cheaper for me. Any insight into the program is appreciated. Thank you!?

I GOT IN!! I am so excited but I am concerned because I got the email, but I can't accept my acceptance because the website still says under review. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hello! I’ve already applied and I’m just waiting to finish a Summer class for pre recs and send in the transcript. The assessment centers didn’t have any available dates so I just took mine through Lonestar and transferred my scores over. This is my second and last time I will be applying ?‍♀️
