UTH Cizik School of Nursing Spring 2021 (Pacesetter)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I found this forum last night and figured I would create this for anyone who wants to discuss the pacesetter program for Spring 2021. The application deadline will be here before we know it! I will be taking courses at San Jac this Summer to finish my pre-reqs ( a lot of the unfortunately ). Hope everyone is staying safe and taking this time to prepare as much as possible. I had been volunteering at Methodist but unfortunately that has ceased for now. Post anything you’d like here!

I GOT IN!! I am so excited but I am concerned because I got the email, but I can't accept my acceptance because the website still says under review. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I think when I got in it took a while to update... congrats!

"You will receive an email notification once your status has been updated in ApplyUTH.  At that time you will have 10 calendar days to accept or decline the admission offer. Please remember to thoroughly read all admission requirements once instructions are received since some items have changed and are time sensitive."

Login and click admissions then click accept

That’s awesome! CONGRATULATIONS!
I applied for the fall, but could you share your stats, and if you had any remaining prereqs that you are currently taking? Thanks!

I actually applied pretty early and received a course evaluation. To my surprise, I saw that I didn't have the Sociology prerequisite and took an 8-week class and resent my transcript after. Also, got a 92 on the HESI. 3.8 prerequisite GPA, 3.5 nursing GPA.

I got the acceptance email but the portal is still under review... so I can't accept my status via UTH's portal. just yet at least

Interesting, my to do list still has one item, but it still let me accept admission

@Rmjcg5 would you have any knowledge on scholarships? I wondering if scholarships here are usually given out to Pacesetter students. Also, I have two more prereqs to cover this fall (intro to sociology and intro to philosophy). Would you know of others that were accepted but still needed to complete prereqs? Hope to hear from you soon. ?

yes people get accepted before finishing pre-reqs and there are scholarships, but a limited number

@DontWorryBeHappy @Bryce Greene @AliciaParsley Hi guys! I see that all of you are either in the program or were accepted. I'm a bit afraid since this school seems unpredictable from what I read. Could you tell me, what helped you personally get in? And do you have experience in a medical setting? Hope to hear from you soon. ?

Only 15% of ppl that get accepted get scholarships on average. At least that's what I've heard. Competitive!

There is no writing portion, so I don't think experience matters too much. I think getting a solid score on the HESI will give you the best chances. Also, having most of the prerequisites completed may help too.

Hi! I did get in! My stats were an 3.59 overall, 3.8 pre req and a 3.81 science GPA as well as an 85.2 on my HESI. I had no previous degrees and no experience in hospitals! My pre reqs were completed upon applying. I’m not sure what helped me get in probably my GPA!
