  1. I work for UT and there is a UT fitness center. It is near student housing though (about 2 miles from the Nursing building). I know employees have to pay a small monthly fee to use it but am not sure if it's included for students.
  2. Thank you so much! This is very helpful! I'll definitely be back if I have more questions ?
  3. Hi everyone! I just found this thread and I have been accepted to start in Fall 2021! I would love to talk with anyone that is in the program now. Particularly anyone with young kids that could give me some idea of how the class schedule works and how you're balancing school and family. Are you able to work part time? (I know they say not to). Do your kids stay home with you while you study? How do you work out a schedule when you're working clinicals if your significant other has steady work hours that are hard to adjust? I'm beyond excited to be changing careers, but I am so worried about the upheaval this change will cause in my family, especially with not having a known schedule to start planning for. Any ideas for child care or working would be appreciated!
  4. Your admission advisor should call and verify information with you once they receive the application from NursingCas. The actual admission came in an email, then I got a call from my advisor the next day to discuss the next steps.
  5. I have no idea at this point! It's the main thing I am stressing over right now. I have 2 kids and a farm to support, and I know we can't easily do it on just my husband's income. Not working is a sacrifice I'm willing to make, but it will be extremely difficult. I have no clue what our plan is though. Does anyone know how to get in touch with some that is in the program or recently completed it? I'd like to touch base with them on possibility of working a flexible part time job.
  6. I honestly did not study as much as I should have. I was 9 months pregnant and exhausted. I used the Evolve HESI study book and it was most helpful for me with the math problems as I had to refresh my fraction knowledge. Good luck!
  7. Baylor does not accept credit for nursing courses from other colleges is what I was told. They require their pre-reqs, and then everyone takes the same curriculum once in the program. I have taken Pharm and was told I would not receive credit for it.
  8. Thank you!! I don't recall the exact stats from what they calculate as they never sent it in writing and it's different than most schools, but my pre-req GPA is around 3.8, science pre-req was probably 3.5. My HESI scores - overall 88: Reading 90 Grammar 90 Vocabulary 92 A&P 76 Math 92
  9. Hi! I applied back in January and got my admission letter 2 weeks ago! I'm so excited! Good luck to you both!
  10. That makes sense. I was just trying to follow the instructions sent with the transcript evaluation which explicitly said to email... I'll be calling tomorrow! Thanks everyone!
  11. Thank you! That's what I've been checking, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing it.
  12. That's great, congrats!! I'm disappointed my advisor didn't even mention there was a December cohort. I started the application process back in April, but she told me all of 2020 was delayed. I was in touch with her periodically because it's still an option for me, and she never once mentioned it, or I would have jumped on getting the last couple things done (just need letters of rec and sending official test scores in). Good luck to you!
  13. Thank you! Did you receive your eligibility letter through regular mail or email?
  14. All of the programs in Texas require the same Texas "core" classes. I'm not looking at any outside of Texas right now if that's what you're asking.
  15. Great point! If I don't get in during Spring or Summer for some of the others I've applied to, I will keep going with WGU. Are you in the program already? Does the way it work make you nervous at all? Like the first 6 months is "pre-nursing" and does not guarantee your spot in the actual 2 year nursing program?
