Hello everyone!
I've been looking around for a UTH - Pacesetter BSN forum for Summer 2021; haven't found one so I'm going to start one here! This forum is for anyone applying for or just curious about the Summer 2021 application cycle (deadline Jan 15th, 2020). If anyone has any questions, concerns, worries, or anything they'd like to share during the process then you've found the right place! We're here to help each other out. Best of luck!

Hey! I am also looking to apply to UTHealth for the first time for Summer 2021. I have been on the webinars they’ve hosted, so I generally know what they expect for admissions, etc. Good luck to everyone!

Hi! I am applying for the first time to the Summer 21 cycle. I just took my HESI exam about 3 weeks ago and was happy with my score but tbh debating on retaking to see if I can score higher and I'm finishing my last pre-req which ends mid October. Planning on sending in my application as soon as my transcript is updated.. I am supperrrr nervous bc it doesn't seem like there is any set system of how they accept applicants.

Hello everyone! I just applied to the UTHealth program and I received my login for the applicant portal. I am taking my HESI in the first week of December and have already completed all of my pre-requisites. I am super excited for this journey and wish everyone good luck for their application process!
Quick question: On the applicant portal there is a tab that says “Apply” on it. Are we supposed to reapply or is that another application process that needs to be completed? Does anyone know?
I think on the UTHealth app portal, if it says “Apply” you can click that and it’ll let you apply to other programs if you’re applying to more than one. As long as it says that you have an active application for the semester that you wish to apply for, you should be fine.

Hi there! New to Houston and will be applying for Summer 21. I will also be looking to take the HESI in December. What studying tools are you guys using and how much time will you be studying? I bought the HESI A2 SECRETS Study Guide and I am hoping that this is good enough.
Also, for the HESI science section, are we going to be tested on Biology and Chemistry?

I will be applying for Summer 21 as well. I am working on my last two prereqs at LoneStar (Micro and Stats). Has anyone started on immunizations yet? I am wondering how long the process is and if I should start on that soon. Good luck to everyone!

Hey Everyone! Can anyone tell me how you're taking your HESI? Anyone taking it through Prometric? I'm a bit confused about where the school code comes in when testing through Prometric and how the scores will be sent to UTHealth. Thank you so much!

^That link above should contain all the info you need about the HESI. Only five sections are required (A&P, Vocab, Grammar, Reading, Math) and the other sections (e.g. Biology and Chemistry) are not required and will not be looked at if you do them. ("The other sections such as Biology, Chemistry, Critical Thinking, Learning Styles, and Physics are not required and will not be reviewed.") I registered through Elsevier using the registration instructions in that link above and took it at a physical testing center, so I'm not sure how the Prometric registration process looks like. I do know that since I registered using the UTHealth code, my scores will automatically be sent to them (at the end of the month that I took the test). As for study materials, I used HESI A2 SECRETS and the Admission Assessment Exam Review E4 (I found the online practice exams it came with to be helpful) and studied about maybe an hour a day 3 weeks out? I ended up with a 96 composite (100 Math/A&P; 94 Reading/Vocab; 92 Grammar) and don't plan on retaking it. For those who are familiar with the TEAS, I found it easier. Best of luck!
As for CPR, immunizations, etc. I attended a webinar and the faculty recommend *not* taking any of those actions until you are formally/conditionally accepted since those actions may have time frames/costs associated with them. I could be wrong and I don't know anything else about immunizations, but I know that I won't start any of those until I receive my admissions outcome.

This link is also helpful but everything is on the UTH website. The Elsevier process is somewhat confusing, I googled some directions online and found a PDF from another school about how to register for an account and get set up for an exam at Prometrics. I've taken an exam there before for a certification for work so I was familiar with their process. FYI the testing center is down off NASA Parkway if you are looking to do it in person in Houston. @futurernguy - great scores dude! I'm taking it December 14 and starting to study next week. Hopefully plenty of time as I haven't take math in over a decade LOL. Lots of resources on Youtube, Mometrix, Nursehub, HESI A2 books, etc. for everyone to pass the exam. Just put in the time.
You are correct on the immunizations - don't do them until you are formally accepted. I can do another post with the PDF they sent after the open house.
For those of you who have not attended the virtual open house, I've included the PDF below that they send around afterwards. It answers a lot of the FAQ's people will have. Hopefully someone finds this useful!

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone else applied to UTMB as well. My priority is UTHealth because I live in Houston, but I just got accepted into UTMB. Was wondering if anyone else might be in the same situation..? Thank you!!
