Hello everyone!
I've been looking around for a UTH - Pacesetter BSN forum for Summer 2021; haven't found one so I'm going to start one here! This forum is for anyone applying for or just curious about the Summer 2021 application cycle (deadline Jan 15th, 2020). If anyone has any questions, concerns, worries, or anything they'd like to share during the process then you've found the right place! We're here to help each other out. Best of luck!
Hi! I am applying to the Summer 2021 as well. I also intend to apply to UTMB’s ‘accelerated’ program as well. I just took my HESI and submitted my scores... And have to now begin studying for the TEAS to be accepted to UTMB.
If anyone has taken this exam, any tips, suggestions, comments, etc? Honestly I’m super nervous about getting accepted into either of these schools.
Also, does anyone know if you could get the acceptance or reject letter before the posted response date on the website? That is if you apply early. If I remember correctly, there it states decisions will be delivered mid-April. Just curious.
TIA!
Hm, from previous forums I've seen Summer acceptances/deadlines come out mid-March but of course it may vary every year.
For test ID on the application, I put the student ID that should appear on the top right of your HESI exam results; I don't think anything but the Student ID would go there.
Hi Everyone!
I applied for the first time to the Spring 2021 program, and I'm pretty sure I did not get in since I haven't received acceptance or a waitlist but others have and the official know date is Nov. 15.
One of the fellow applicants posted this and I found it to be helpful. I've copied and pasted below.
For those in the future.
Acceptances went out Tuesday - Thursday (throughout the day), October 20 - 22; by UTportal
starting with alphabetical order applicants with all prerequisites completed, then alphabetical order for applicants with some incomplete prerequisites.
(given 7-10 days to deny or accept their offers)
Waitlist went out Friday, October 30 (midday) ; by email
in no particular order
most acceptances went to : GPA >3.5 and HESI >89
(with a FEW exceptions)
no preference to: time of application submission, if you had a prior degree, if you had prior experience
probable presence: completion of prerequisites, higher than average GPA and HESI,
many applicants (as myself) did not get in or waitlisted even though we had the same stats as some applicants that got in.
UT health is a nice school, but do not hold your breath. there are many many other great nursing programs
? good luck, future nurse!

What studying tools are you guys using and how much time will you be studying? I bought the HESI A2 SECRETS Study Guide and I am hoping that this is good enough.
Also, for the HESI science section, are we going to be tested on Biology and Chemistry?
Hey there! No Biology and Chemistry. Just the five sections: Reading Comp, Grammar, Vocab & Knowledge, A&P, Math!
I used the secrets study guide for my first try. I didn't get to study much because I had three days from finishing my A&P course, so really took it on a whim. I am retaking for a higher score and my friend shared this link with me: https://www.registerednursern.com/HESI-admission-assessment-exam-review-HESI-A2/. I haven't checked it out yet. I also have a few other practice exams if you'd like. Just email me, [email protected].

Does anyone taking HESI outside of UTHealth. If yes, How did you transfer your HESI score?
Hey there, I think you have to contact Elsevier directly! From the school website it says:
Transferring HESI Scores
HESI exam scores taken for another institution can be sent to UTHealth if all of the required sections were taken. If any or part of the test required by UTHealth were not taken, the score report will not be accepted.
To transfer test results, the student must contact Elsevier to request the scores be sent to UTHealth Registrar. A nominal fee is charged by Elsevier for this service.
Hey guys! Today I was able to login to Elsevier to request eligibility to take the HESI A2 exam in the coming weeks for Summer2021 cohort but I have to wait about 3 days to hear back from them. I was just wondering, for those who have already scheduled your exam, what was the last day allowed to register for the HESI A2 to be able to apply in time? I guess I'm just trying to give myself all the time I can to study before testing. Are they doing at home testing or are they scheduling you to come in person? Thank you in advance!

@mintbuttI will be applying to both, but I'd say accept wherever you can get in and start. Although moving/commuting to Galveston may not be an option for some - they do offer clinicals in Houston Med Center once you are in. I had a friend go through this program and really enjoyed it.
