Hello everyone! 

I've been looking around for a UTH - Pacesetter BSN forum for Summer 2021; haven't found one so I'm going to start one here! This forum is for anyone applying for or just curious about the Summer 2021 application cycle (deadline Jan 15th, 2020). If anyone has any questions, concerns, worries, or anything they'd like to share during the process then you've found the right place! We're here to help each other out. Best of luck!

Yes, You can apply for both. I already apply for Summer but my GPA is not that good.  So, I’m going to repeat some classes then reapply for fall 2021.

For those in the future.

Acceptances went out Tuesday - Thursday (throughout the day), October 20 - 22; by UTportal

starting with  alphabetical order applicants with all prerequisites completed, then alphabetical order for applicants with some incomplete prerequisites.  

(given 7-10 days to deny or accept their offers)

Waitlist went out Friday, October 30 (midday) ; by email

in no particular order

most acceptances went to : GPA >3.5 and HESI >89

(with a FEW exceptions)

no preference to: time of application submission, if you had a prior degree, if you had prior experience

probable presence: completion of prerequisites, higher than average GPA and HESI, 

many applicants (as myself) did not get in or waitlisted even though we had the same stats as some applicants that got in.

UT health is a nice school, but do not hold your breath. there are many many other great nursing programs

@Briana Nguyen if you don't mind me asking, what was your GPA/HESI scores if you didn't get in the first time to UT Health? I'm curious because this has me freaking out a bit! I'm really curious on their selection criteria. I will only have 46 credit hours when I put in my app too. I have a full load to take as Winter mini/Spring courses.

Hello all,

There are two approved ways of creating a special area for your cohort on this site.

One: create a facebook page.  A FB link is allowed, per the Terms of Service.

Two: create a "club" for your cohort by clicking on the Breakroom link in the yellow bar to the left of this page.  Then click on Create A New Club, in the green bar at the top of the page, and follow instructions.

References to other than these two avenues will be moved from view, to comply with the Terms of Service.

Hi! based off the webinars you have been in do you think you may have a general idea of what they tend to accept? I got an 85.2 overall on my HESI and a 3.78 GPA and im really trying to get an good feel if I have a pretty good chance.

I was told they would accept by the end of February! If you don't mind sharing, what's your GPA and HESI score? I just don't know what the average applicant looks like and I want to understand better!

Hi everyone, we are getting close to the cut off date in 10 days! Is anyone still showing a "hold" on transcripts you've sent and have confirmed receipt? I'm hoping just an admin/clerical issue on their side and they have received but not input into the admission system yet. I'm going to contact the admissions office to confirm but wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience. 

Also, does anyone know of when acceptances will roll out for the Summer session? I thought I remember them saying March 1 on the open house webinar but I honestly can't remember!

If you are still in progress at a university, your transcript will say “in progress” or “hold”. I submitted 3 different transcripts & 2 of them went through but the 1 for my current bachelors degree still says in progress since I’m set to graduate in May so I don’t technically have a final GPA but uth does have it.

as far as when we will hear anything, I’ve heard 3 different answers: end of February, middle of March, & beginning of April. I think in the past I’ve been that they are typically March but I’m not really sure.

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to get HESI scores ?

Hi guys, I've already applied for Summer. Really worried because my stats aren't super great thanks to my last semester. I got a 91.2 on the HESI, 3.51 prereq GPA, but 3.44 in science. I am complete with all my prereqs. Hoping for the best!!

One of my transcripts is still on the "To Do" list, but I still have ongoing coursework so maybe that's why. I sent admissions an email today to see if they're able to confirm whether they have received it.

According to their website, they're supposed to get them automatically at the end of each month. I took my HESI on 12/11, and it still is showing on my To-Do list.

I hope everyones doing okay, does anyone happen to know if you were to get accepted is there a deadline by when the prerequisites have to be finished. I know online they mentioned it has to be before the program starts, but I think classes start the 17th and the Spring semester at my college ends on the 16th I am just trying to find out if that would be an issue ? I have tried calling but have gotten no response.
