Hey everyone?!
Just wanted to start a forum to see if there are any other nursing student applicants for the Fall semester? I just applied, although, I know I will not get a response until beginning of April. I was so excited since I just finished my HESI. I had to retake it since I did not take Vocab. the first time I took it? . Anyways, I really pray I get in for August so I can get started and not need to take any additional classes for other schools. My friend got in for Spring 2019 and she is loving it. I have really been fighting to get here for a VERY LONG TIME
I really can't wait. Good luck to everyone! ?
Congrats to all of those who have been accepted!!!
I'm currently a J1 student at UTH SON, and I just wanted to pop in to say that everything will be okay! Your time will come! UTH is a very competitive school, there's usually over 1000+ people who apply each semester and fall semester is the most competitive. Feel free to ask me any questions! But I just wanted to let you guys know that there are other schools to apply to as well like TWU, UTMB, HBU but don't lose hope! I applied for the spring semester and got denial and then I applied for summer and got waitlisted but then I luckily got off the waitlist! So for those people who are on the waitlist, there's hope!! (I also applied for TWU and UTMB for the fall and got in!)
Feel free to ask me any questions, I completely understand how nerve-racking this progress could be! I was just in your shoes a few months ago! & here I am, just finished my first week at UTH ?

Do you know how many people got off the waitlist your cycle? Or how many people were on the waitlist? I was waitlisted for Summer too.

Here is a link to the UTHealth Fact Book. I know it covers statistics that include race/ethnicity, but I'm not sure if it drills down to age. If your curious I'd encourage you to take a look and see if age is mentioned in here for applicants so you can see how many applications in different age ranges are accepted. Again I'm not certain if this even includes age as I did not read that far.
After reading responses, I'm glad to see that I am not the only one here trying to back to school "later on in life" lol I would hope age doesn't play a factor...just trying to feel out the applicant list since we only know ppl by what they post ?
Hi Guys,
Congrats to those who got accepted! For those who are waitlisted or denied, please don't lose hope! Remember that when one door closes another opens up. I am really confused about immunizations and a few other requirements. Can anyone please tell me if we are supposed to do titter tests on our own? Does anyone know when is the orientation (any rough idea)? I am super nervous about the pre-enrollment process as I am travelling outside of the U.S for at least a month

Hi,
Can I please know how long does the enrollment process takes? For titter tests, are we supposed to do it on our own? Can Fall students do all the pre-enrollment stuff like a month before starting Nursing school? Thanks ?

Hey! I'm also a J1 at UTH. The enrollment process takes about 1 to 3 knths depending if you have your Hep B series done or not because that one takes a while to complete and then you have to wait a couple of weeks (about a month) to get your Hep B titer. Personally I already had Hep B done and started doing the rest on the last week of Feb and i finished all of my vaccines and titers by the first week of enrollment so middle/late of April. As for titers, yes you do them on your own. You can go to your primary health provider if you want or go to the school's clinic with your insurance and they'll do your immunizations. You can also go to other places to get them done for a small price. Don't worry too much about getting them in before the due date, they will work with you if they see youre doing them!!!
For the CPR you can do it in one day in just make sure it is a hybrid class OR in person but not online. For the background check, you can pretty much do it when youre traveling? Basically you fill out the application for it and then pay and they send your background check to the school so you don't need to be here in the U.S. The drug screening i suggest you fill out the application as soon as you can because you pay for it and it takes about 2 weeks for the company to get back to you and give you a list of locations you can get it done at and then it takes some time for them to screen it and send your results in to the school.

But would they really send out waitlists before all of the acceptances have gone out...? That seems weird.
