Hey everyone?!
Just wanted to start a forum to see if there are any other nursing student applicants for the Fall semester? I just applied, although, I know I will not get a response until beginning of April. I was so excited since I just finished my HESI. I had to retake it since I did not take Vocab. the first time I took it? . Anyways, I really pray I get in for August so I can get started and not need to take any additional classes for other schools. My friend got in for Spring 2019 and she is loving it. I have really been fighting to get here for a VERY LONG TIME
I really can't wait. Good luck to everyone! ?

I think I really need to reconsider another degree because I have patient children who are depending on me. I can't keep them waiting.
Same for me. Patient kiddos and hubby...I even retook some of my classes from earlier on to "raise the grades."

I don't know what else I can do. I am a single mom and my kids have been patient while I study and have cheered me on the way only for me to keep telling them I am not in. So disappointing when you work hard and have the stats and are just rejected or put on the waitlist over and over.
Those of you with multiple waitlists and rejections, don’t rule out ADN. I know it’s longer, it’s not as appealing as an ABSN program, and I know you have to do RN-BSN transition after. But if nursing is the goal then it’s whatever it takes.
For those with previous degrees or too many credit hours: at the orientation at Lone Star the other day, they talked about people who have too many credit hours. The financial aid people were very adamant about applying for an appeal and how most nursing students get an appeal approved for extended financial aid. They also mentioned they have workforce (worksource?) scholarships that can cover everything from tuition to books.
Also, Lone Star CyFair’s ADN program is only a year and a half instead of 2 years like the other campuses. If you have an A in English 1 and an A in either A&P, you’re golden to get in to your first choice campus. You can apply for Spring cycle as long as your HESI isn’t expired (over a year) and you took the Critical Thinking portion. If not you’ll have to take the HESI again, which is still doable.
Just an option I’m throwing out there.
