Alas! Here I go again! This thread is dedicated to all hopefuls to either of the programs- AP or traditional. Let's partake in the sharing of ideas, suggestions, and/or insight in the "intricacies" of this nursing program. Former grads, new or current students are encouraged to chat. Knowledge is power, indeed! Continued blessings and success to all! Good Luck!
Micro is killing me. I am doing OK so far, but I am constantly freaking out about not being able to see what I missed on quizzes. My classmates are NOT happy about this and 4 of them have sent mass emails out in the past week complaining about it. The professor was less than thrilled, to say the least, that they did this. Med Term is a piece of cake. Pharm & Patho is a LOT of info, but I am enjoying it so far. I am focusing more on Micro though because it is over in the middle of October, and as we all know, getting that A is like getting a Golden Ticket from Willy Wonka.
@nikkibro & Libra1018....good to hear you guys are hanging in there! A&P 1 is going great here too! I've got an A and have been working ahead so I can be ready for pharm come Monday..whoohoo! We got the syllabus yesterday and it looks like 5 exams and a comp final and that's your grade so that's always nerve wracking....I am just ready to get going!
@Libra1018...micro is a killer....but hang in there and it'll be over soon!! Yes, every class seems to have those that email out but it won't help so they should just use that energy to study! How are you doing exam wise? Those were the worst for me. Labs were very easy and that helped.
Hope everyone is having a great Thursday!! I'm studying to take the TEAS V here soon, so if anyone has taken that one, let me know what you thought....need to do really well in order to be accepted at the other college I'm applying to.
@libra1018, How are you doing in Patho and Pharm? I think they are both butt kicker classes!!! Of course I'm also taking Elementary Statistical Analysis and Nutrition at the same time, lol. My brain might be fried already.
email me. Let's go over our pharm/path stuff :) [email protected]
Hey guys and gals - I am in the PHARM 3365 course that started yesterday...
Was curious if anyone who has taken this class can shed insight on what we should focus on when studying...
Also, I was told by my advisor that letters will go out as early as October...possibly even late September. As soon as they have evaluated them all, letters will start going out...
Please private message me regarding the PHARM 3365 info...
Thanks!
I took this class in January. I would focused on using the drug templates that the instructor provides. Learn how a drug works and how it affects the body. Dont focus on drug names (is good if you know them), focus on classifications. Her test are practical/scenario based. I can not recall a single question that was straight-forward. All questions are how would you apply the knowledge into the real world. I cannot stress it enough. Learn how the drug WORKS and the rest should be easy.
One thing I noticed on her tests is that knowledge will be cumulative; meaning that if test 1 were about ch 1-3, the next test will built on that knowledge. So basically on the questions you will need apply what you learned on previous chapters and use it for the following test.
Sorry if this is overwhelming, but it was a hard class. I did manage to get an A.
THANK YOU! That is great help. I am feeling a little overwhelmed in this course...it's my last pre-req course and there is nothing but exams...stressful!!
So your advice, to make sure I understand it correctly, is to use the drug template on each drug class we learn about?
You are a great resource!! Thank you again!
