Alas! Here I go again! This thread is dedicated to all hopefuls to either of the programs- AP or traditional. Let's partake in the sharing of ideas, suggestions, and/or insight in the "intricacies" of this nursing program. Former grads, new or current students are encouraged to chat. Knowledge is power, indeed! Continued blessings and success to all! Good Luck!
Has anyone ever heard how many "partnered" applicants they received for Spring 2012 verses how many "non-partnered" applicants there were? I was just wondering?! I emailed my advisor this question and all she responded back was "I can not disclose that information" ugh...seriously??!! I'm just trying to figure out what the numbers are.....thanks!!
@tejas03, I started Pharm today, but I'm still waiting on my Patho book to get here. The classes are taught completely through Evolve/Elsevier! I had no idea until it was posted on my Blackboard last night. I guess we are paying Evolve to teach us?
I'm not complaining. It's way cheaper than UTA, even though I had to buy new books, and it's good practice for NCLEX style questions.
The site looks like it has loads of info including videos, flashcards, extra reading, animations, glossary and audio so we can learn how to say the drug names.
I'll let you know how it's going after a week or so.....or after the first test!!!!
@katybusymom....I actually finished patho about a month ago...before I even really thought about looking for the classes somewhere else...I decided to stay at UTA for a couple different reasons...with finishing pharm at UTA on the 12th it puts me at the 30 hrs pre req that they say gives you "additional consideration" (haha we all know what that means but I'm still hopeful) and I was too nervous to change because I had heard the UTA professor for pharm was really great (although really hard but good professor) so I just decided to go with it and praying it was the right decision!!
I took pharma in January. Just make sure to study every day and that you understand all the concepts very good. The test are scenario-based and only the best answer is acceptable. You will need to use your analytical skills in order to pass this course. Get into a study group. It helps tremendously to discuss all drugs together. Final is comprehensive.
@katybusymom...I'm praying for us all! I have also made my plan B for January (I'll be applying to 2 other colleges then if I have to). I would love to do UTA's program, just because of flexibility and how fast the program is, but with the overall spots (6 last semester to non partnered..again, not exact cause I've heard 12 too) I'm not holding my breath...hahaha
I am ready for pharm...praying my experience comes in handy and that since I took pharm in LVN school 11 yrs ago I'll be somewhat ready for this one...we will see!
Can't wait to hear how ya'lls first test goes!! Good luck!! You will do awesome!!
@Katybusymom....that's great!! Always a relief to have something in writing.... :)
Has anyone heard anything school related as far as Spring '12??!! I am ready for November but not as anxious/worried as I was last time...whatever happens will be!!
I went ahead and started studying the 1st couple chapters of pharm just so I'll be ready for the 12th!! A&P 1 is going very well....love it!!
