UTA FALL 2012
Well unfortunately they are not going to tell you where you are at on the waiting list.

UTA FALL 2012
The first part of orientation for the online program will start on June 1st through EPIC. Sometime in August is when we will meet in person (unsure of the date).

UTA Spring 2013
I have always heard that their are generally less applicants in the Spring. I think since the AP BSN online program started that the number of overall applicants have significantly increased even after they "weed" applicants that really don't qualify, there is still a huge applicant pool. If nursing is what you really want to do, then I think it is a good idea to apply to other programs and not just UTA. Is anyone planning on attending the info session in May?

UTA FALL 2012
I know it helps to have a high science GPA, partnered with a hospital, AND having more course hours taken at UTA. I think because the program has become so competitive, that they had to start using the extra considerations. Being waitlisted is a good thing. Even if you don't get called I would still try again. You might have better luck the next round. Good luck to you all. I bet mid-May is when they will start making calls for those on the waiting list.

UTA FALL 2012
bjbailey, can you tell us how your first semester is going? Are clinicals on weekends or during the week? Thanks.

UTA FALL 2012
For those who did not get in. I highly recommend you go to the information session that is posted on your letter. I think you will find it very helpful. If not I suggest you meet in person with your advisor on how you can be more competitive. For those that are waitlisted, don't give up. Once the acceptance letters are returned then they will probably start calling people off the waiting list. Seems like that is what they did for the spring. So there is still hope! Apply to other schools next time. Take as many courses from UTA, especially the science courses (if you need to). I know you all feel shocked or upset right now because I have been there . Besides, the spring term will not be that far away. GPA is important but I think when there is so much competition that they have to start considering other factors to make their decisions. Chins up and start enjoying your weekend. Eventually you all will acheive your goals!

UTA Spring 2012
@libra1018.... I am taking the same micro class. I am thinking that the same questions on the quizzes will be on the final exam and that is why she won't let us review. It drives me nuts not knowing what I missed. The questions can be tricky! Good luck!!!

UTA Spring 2012
A local children's hospital in the DFW area. It is clinical related. I have worked for several years then took time off to be with my kids. I didn't get in for fall 2011 so I decided to go back to work to help better my chances. I am going to take microbiology to increase my GPA. I just wish UTA would include on their application your work history. I always thought the AP program was mostly for those who are seeking a second degree and that those who had been in healthcare would be accepted, of course with a good GPA. It seems like that is not the case. Which is a total bummer. I often wonder how many current students have already dropped out. It looks like it is a plus if you have 30 or more hours taken at UTA, I will soon meet this criteria!!! Good luck.

UTA Spring 2012
Hello everyone. Are the UTA advisors out of the office? If so, when do they return? I am puzzled about the partnered hospital. I work at one that was on the list. When I ask around at work about talking to someone about the program no one can answer me. I wonder how UTA verifies where you work?

UTA Spring 2012
I was told to better my chances for the AP BSN program that I should consider getting a job at a partner hospital. I did. I have not started yet. I am wondering if there is a code or an application that must be filled out at the partner hospital that I will be working for in addition to my application to UTA for spring 2012? Thanks for the advise.
