UT Houston Summer 2010 Accelerated Program

Hello All,

I am currently in the process of trying to get into the UT Houston Summer 2010 Accelerated program. I am not sure if there is a thread already started. But if there is not one I would like to start one. Hopefully we can use this thread and keep up with one another. Who else is hoping to get into UT Houston's Summer 2010 Accelerated program?

I'm not sure I feel like I said everything I needed too and she did seem impressed that I had done microbiology research during college, but I normally judge these types of things by the interviewer's body language and that makes me uneasy :). I wonder how much the interviews are weighted compared to our GPA/NET scores.

OMG, same! I am extremely (if not annoyingly) outgoing, and interviews are usually my strong suit. I was caught off guard when I realized that this was going to be a question and answer interview and not a conversational interview. My interviewer gave me no feedback or response to my answers, which made me very nervous. I think i have good grades, and a good net score. I'm so ready for march to get here!

WHY DO WE HAVE THE EXACT SAME STATS?! lol!

....because we're AWESOME!??!

I usually do very well in interviews and I also had NO idea of what she thought. I only had one person in my room and it was not very conversational at all. I left feeling a little weird about it, but if everyone else had the same experience then I'm a little happier!

I interviewed Jan. 12! This wait is sooooo hard! It sounds like everyone had a good interviewer. Mine was a brick wall! She was completely devoid of any emotion. She made me super nervous but I think I did well. Good luck to everyone! Its really nice to have a support system here!

Kellywood...not only do we have the same stats, but we interviewed the SAME DAY too! I was wearing black pants and a red jacket with a bow on the front. I sat at the table in the very back of the room by the window with a guy (there were only a few) and another girl.

I was one of the 3 black girls there, and i was wearing a black pantsuit and white ruffled shirt. Thats nuts that we were there at the same time! i wish i would have found this board sooner! It would have been nice to meet you!

I just wanted to say good luck to all of those who have upcoming interviews!!! And to those of us who have already interviewed... as I keep telling myself, "Patience is a Virtue." The waiting is hard, but really it's just right around the corner. 40 days and counting!!!!! :yeah:

This wait is killing me!!! Even though I know that we will not hear anything until late March, I still check my UTLink every day. How pathetic! I feel like I should be calling and emailing the UTHSC SON staff every day about how badly I want into this program. UGH! I am going insane!

hey guys! I checked out last year's applicant pool to see what the scores were like for those who got in the program. The nursing pre-req gpa's ranged from 3.5-4.0, sciences were ab 3.6-4.0. and they all found out around march 20.

Well I fall in that range, so maybe my interview won't hurt to much hehe :).

were we supposed to take the HESI as well? this was not one of the requirements at the time that I applied...

nevermind...just talked to one of the staff and the HESI is not required for us. I am just panicking a little!!

Do any of you guys know what the process is for the people who don't get into the program? Will we have to interview again for the fall semester? I wonder how many people who don't get accepted to the accelerated program go on and get accepted for the fall semester.

Ladykee, I was wondering the same thing. I just saw the other day that my GPA lowered from the Spring semester :( so now i have a 3.0 in nursing pre reqs and a 3.66 in Science. I hope I can make As in the 4 courses I am taking now to better my chances if I have to apply again.
