hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.
Can't wait to hear from others.
Congratulations everyone!! I know you guys are so excited, especially since you didn't have to wait til the 15th! Good luck to you all and enjoy this downtime. January 11th is right around the corner.
As for my group...
We are still waiting to get interviews for the Generic BSN program at UTMB.:)

hey guys...for those trying to decide between schools my prenursing advisor at school gave me these tips. most of it i had already thought of, but i thought i'd share incase it would help anybody
Some students that have had to make a decision like this have looked very closely at each program's rotations or clinicals, where they are, how many there are, how much time is spent at each. Your clinicals are what orient you to life as a nurse so you want plenty of them and plenty of time to adjust as a student before you are thrust out as a nurse and on your own. Also, look at the pace of their curriculum, are there any differences, do you have any time off. If you are in to mission trips, does the school sponsor any? I suppose that you could look at their faculty, have they won any state or national awards?
I got accepted! I cried...
My stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.92
Science GPA: 3.75
Undergrad GPA: 3.85
E-mail time: 12:20
NET score: 85
I'm a biology major and my B's were in Organic Chemistry. My only health care experience was as a secretary for a surgery group for a couple of months. I shadowed a few surgeries, nurses, and doctors. I put a few volunteer things that I had done in a list on my resume, but she didn't really ask about them. My interview was short, but she said that it went well. I was confident and told her that I could handle the program and gave reasons and examples of why... Ummm... I told her about my immunology and pathophysiology classes. I told her that I was organized and used to a hectic schedule and heavy workload. I explained that my NET score was not exactly what I had wanted... lol. My interviewer, Dr. Hanneman, said that she was the director? Anyway, I hope this info helps anyone who was asking!

Do you know of any differences between twu and ut houston's clinicals?
OMG, looking at everyone's volunteer experience, I'm never going to get into UT. I'm applying for Fall 2010, and I have a 4.0, and I know I'll do well on the NET (I'm a great standardized test taker) but I work 40-50 hours a week so I don't have time to volunteer. Did anyone get in without health care experience or volunteer work?Congrats to those who did get in and hugs to those who didn't.
I didn't have any volunteer or health care experience and I got in. I do, however, come from a family full of healthcare professionals, and I made it a point to mention that.
