hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.
Can't wait to hear from others.

i was accepted, these are my stats:
Science GPA: 3.75
PreReq GPA: 3.75
NET: 100 math, 85 or 88 reading (i can't remember)
i have volunteered at a free clinic, and also at a hospital
my interviewer didn't actually ask about my health care experience, she was really interested in my other activities. i'm a part of an organization called W.H.O.O.P. (women helping out other people), FAN (future aggie nurses), and HOSTS (helping one student to succeed, a mentor program at a local elementary school for at-risk kids) she actually seemed very interested in HOSTS and told me that she thought it was a great thing and put a star next to it on my resume.
OMG, looking at everyone's volunteer experience, I'm never going to get into UT. I'm applying for Fall 2010, and I have a 4.0, and I know I'll do well on the NET (I'm a great standardized test taker) but I work 40-50 hours a week so I don't have time to volunteer. Did anyone get in without health care experience or volunteer work?
Congrats to those who did get in and hugs to those who didn't.

I got in and the only volunteer experience I have is setting up events to raise money for some local families and the place I work for does an annual event to benefit St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
Wannabetxnurse,I was accepted into the program for Spring 2010 also, and I had no previous health care experience or volunteer work. So, don't be discouraged. There is hope for you as well!
I just wanted to say Congratulations to all who have been accepted!!!
I thought I was the only one who didn't have any health care experience!
