hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.
Can't wait to hear from others.
I know everyone's excited about the technology, but honestly, on the floor clinicals is where it's at. TWU might have better tech, but it's like learning CPR on a dummy. It's not the same until you do it in real life.
With that in mind, I still don't know who has better hospital rotations/clinicals, haha. This coming from an LVN, if that helps
well for the work/study program, uth works with texas childrens', st. lukes, and ut-md anderson cancer center. i'm guessing that if they have a work study program established in the hospitals, they have a pretty strong relationship with the hospitals
that's what I heard too, and those are top notch hospitals to boot

I agree, I want to be in good facilities and actually spend time with patients. I think in those areas TWU and UT are on par with one another, and above and beyond the local ADN programs. Either program is excellent. I believe both hospitals have clinicals with the hospitals in TMC, as well as some outside facilities. I chose UT because I know several people who have graduated from both the BSN and Masters' programs there, and all told me what an excellent school it is. Also, I know a hospital HR person who told me that recent grads from UT were much more likely to be hired than grads from many other area schools, although I don't know about how they compare to TWU grads. I would assume it would be about the same as UT. I have heard, though, that UT is more likely to work with you to get you in a facility near your home (for clinicals) than TWU is.
I got in!!! I was finally able to check my email and there was my acceptance email. I still don't know if my UT-Link changed because it was down by the time I got off of work. For those of you still waiting--there is still hope! My good friend has identical creds to my own and she hasn't heard anything yet.... Good Luck!
