UT houston spring 2010 hopefuls

hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.

Can't wait to hear from others.

do you think they send out the admission letters right away, or will they hold all of the letters until they are through with accepting everyone?

i'm assuming they'd send them all together right? or maybe they send the ones they finish that day before they leave?

I'm trying not to be sad but it's hard. As bad as it sounds I hope enough people choose to go somewhere else so I can take their spot.

Waitlisting is better than rejection, but I know you are disappointed. My friend was also waitlisted, which makes no sense to me. Her stuff was great.

it seems like so many people with great stats either didn't get in or were waitlisted...it makes me wonder how much the interview counted

Someone told me yesterday don't be sad that God is the only one who knows the plans he has for you and where ever you are meant to be, you will be. We don't need to lean on our understanding as to why things don't always work out the way we want them to but he knows EXACTLY why you are going this route and he will see you through it. I cried yesterday too when everyone got emails and their statuses changed and mine is still sitting there. I am 32 and a single mom of a 10 1/2 yr old and I have wanted this as long as I can remember. I have worked full time and managed to take my son for 2 years 30 miles across town for school and soccer and I have managed to complete 72 hours of college in those two years. I don't have a 4.0 avg and I had to take the NET test more than once and I am carrying 4 classes just because I still have some hope that I will get in or at least waitlisted. BUT....if I don't then it will be ok. I will keep moving forward and apply again for the fall and I will apply to every nursing school in Houston if I have to get a shot at making a difference in this city for people. You, were waitlisted out of 800 or better applicants, that is still something and you were noticed by them in order to get that. So please know that you will be ok and things will work out the way they should and be happy that you have something that you can hope for even if it isn't an acceptance....what it is not is a denial. You worked hard and that has been acknowledged so don't give up...Because as my son ALWAYS says....You will be a nurse in no time. Good luck, Be happy and celebrate that you are knocking on the door of ALMOST there. ;)

I emailed her back asking how many people were waitlisted and when do those that were accepted have to respond to the offer. I'm glad I still have a chance but even more waiting is just gonna make me go crazier lol
