UT houston spring 2010 hopefuls

Published

hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.

Can't wait to hear from others.

Lol. They should've offered you my slot for yesterday. I called last Friday to inform them I wasn't going. I'm terrible at talking to machines though (voicemail) and ended up sounding like an ass, but I guess it doesn't matter. I said something like "Hi I'm Alex, I have no interest in your school anymore so I'm not coming monday, ok, bye".

I'm with you CyclicalEvents. I didn't get an interveiw like you but my experience with UTHSC has been so frustrating that I'm over going there at this point. I'm pretty sure I got accepted into an ADN program starting in the spring so I'm happy to be starting something soon. I might consider them again for the RN to BSN but my experience with the community college has been nothing but pleasant. AND, after passing the NCLEX hopefully, I will still be able to write RN after my name. :yeah:That's the ultimate goal I think. It doesn't really matter how you get it; it's that you get it!

Emag, I never took your comments as rude or inconsiderate! (I didn't see anything about berating others' GPAs...I don't think anyone is that rude on this board) Don't worry! :) You just needed to vent and who would know better what you are going through than the people around you going through the same thing! Even though I haven't had nearly as much trouble as you have with UTHSC, I totally feel ya! It's frustrating when you've worked so hard at something and feel like no ones cares that you did. I'm SURE your time will come and everything will work out!

BTW: does everyone feel like October is just slowly sliding by? REALLY SLOWLY?! I'm trying to get busy in school but it's so hard knowing that this last semester of school really doesn't matter.... just that I pass and graduate! haha! I have a major case of senioritis! :p

Yeah going slow for me lol

i think someone addressed it earlier, but does anyone know when the last interview will be?

i think one of the last ones (if not the last one) would be on the 19th of october.

I got my letter today and I am scheduled to go on the same day as my friend (who has been on this roller coaster with me from the beginning-we both got our NET's lost) and we both go our letters today. We were both told that this last "mailing" on Monday was it!!! So I would assume that the day we are going (Oct 19th) is either the last day or pretty darn close to it. I am still bummed- I got my letter and after all the drama UT put me through a moment that was supposed to be exciting wasnt. I thought the day I got that letter I would be jumping up and down in joy but I didnt. I still feel like they took the wind out of my sails. Oh well....I have to try and dig deep and find that excitement over UT again because lord knows its gone.

Good luck emag! I'm sure once you're there you'll get excited again! :) I am SO glad interviews will be finished soon!

emag who knows. maybe if you did not call them and "stayed on top" of things...you might have been overlooked and not gotten an interview at all. i would try to leave it all behind and get your excitement back to "pre" lost net levels during the interview. they are looking for excited, spunky, folk who can handle adversity. be like a timex, take that lickin and keep on ticking young lady!

oh..btw

congrats emag on getting an interview!!!!!

:ancong!:

You guys are too sweet. Last night when my hubby came home and I showed him the letter his face lit up in excitement for me and then I got excited too. Its all good! And YES thank my lucky stars I am SUPER proactive and caught this fiasco in the nick of time because not only did I save myself but I saved my friend too from being denied what was rightfully ours. So I guess I did a good job and should be thankful for that. Is anyone else on here scheduled for Oct 19th? I wonder if it will just be me and my friend and a few others :) Did any of you bring letters of recommendation attactched to your resume? I think I am. Since I have been in the field for 9 yrs. I have some pretty awesome people who would write me one. A surgeon I worked for, a RN, and one of my employees who is a LCSW (liscensed clinical social worker). I feel like it wouldnt hurt

Way to go Emag! I will be there on the 19th as well. I had all but ruled out UT but I got the letter yesterday.

I just want to recommend that everyone double check their transcript evaluations. Today I discovered that they left two transcripts off my evaluation. After I called they ended up giving me credit for a course I was about to start next week! You did the right thing Emag by following up. I'm sure it will pay off in the end.

Best of luck in your interview!

Hi Emag,

I took the NET August 28th. I got a 97 Math and 70 Reading. I have a 3.76 Pre Reqs, 4.0 Science and 3.11 Overall. I don't have any previous experience in the medical field like you do though. I'm getting my Nurse Aide certificaiton now but that's all I've got to include on my resume. I've applied to the Lonestar Kingwood ADN program as well and I think I have a good chance of getting in for the Spring so it takes some of the pressure off to know I have options. Not necessarily my first choice but it will get me to the NCLEX!

My interview is at 11:30. When is yours?
