UT houston spring 2010 hopefuls

Published

hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.

Can't wait to hear from others.

Specializes in none as of yet, hoping for ped oncology!.

And don't forget to take the CPR class thats required. I would go ahead and get that out the way as well.

That CPR class is obscenely expensive. I took mine in Austin for 25$

$25 or $250?? i don't think $25 is too much for a CPR class

yeah I looked here in Dallas at the community college. Its 60 bucks. Good grief.

I already have my CPR class, I got it with the local emergency services department for about $30, and it was the best CPR class I have ever taken. I have taken many since I was a preschool teacher and I had to keep my certification up-to-date. I highly recommend this route if you can get into one.

Hi, I have an interview on Sep 17th at 11:30, I was just wondering if anyone knew how significant getting an interview actually was? By getting an interview does that mean I have a very good chance of being accepted assuming my interview goes smoothly, or does the interview just cut the pool down to 1 or 2 thousand applicants and only a fraction of that will be accepted in? Much like the rest of you I am very nervous and anxious :).

They usually interview around 400 and accept about 100. Or at least that is what I was told at the information session.

is the 17th the first day of interviews?

I have not seen anyone post saying they had an interview before the 17th

So, do we need to start immunizations before we know if we're accepted? I just hate too, but I will if I need to. I don't want to get all excited and prepared and not get in... lol. It sounds like a negative outlook, but it's realistic for sure!

Stats:

Nursing pre-req: 3.92

science pre-req: 3.75

undergrad: 3.84

interview: September 23

I don't want to make you more nervous but the HepB series takes 4-6 months to complete, so yes, you should've have already gotten your immunizations or be nearly done with them, otherwise there is no possible way you will get it done before school starts.
