WOW so I applied to Bacc 2 and yesterday saw "conditional acceptance" and had no idea what that meant so I thought I was waitlisted... but I got an email today saying I was in for the Fall!!!!!! Yay I really thought I had no chance!!! So here I am, nice to meet all of you and can i join you guys on Facebook :)

Congratulations on everyone getting accepted! I saw my changed status on Tuesday but haven't had time to share the good news. I'm moving back to Houston from Austin after being at UT for 3 years, so it's definitely going to be a change. I got into the pacesetters program that they recently started, any advice on it? Or any of you doing the pacesetters program too?

I agree we should all meet together before the fall semester starts!

I think I'm also going to start looking at apartments in the med center/ kirby area? Anyone living in med center where they have pretty good apartments??

I am in the Pacesetters program as well and am also looking for an apartment in the med center! I wanted to live in the university apts but the wait list is 200 people long! So I'm looking other places now.

Congratulations to everyone that made it! I just found out about this site and am so glad to have some people to talk to about this. I'm so excited!

Do you guys know if we are to be given a urine drug test or a hair test? I was given a hair test for my job last week and now I'm missing a chunk of hair, two would be horrible!

Its just a urine test, I had mine done today because I was already in the medical center. There are only like two centers though and they are both near downtown.

Is UT Houston a bring your laptop to lecture kind of school? When I went to UT Austin pretty much everyone had laptops in class. Professors made lectures available online so students could follow along and write notes using their computers. Then when I went to ACC and the lectures were still available online, but everyone just printed them out and wrote notes on the printed papers.

I have an older netbook, so its uses are pretty much limited to internet and word documents (I also have a great desktop PC at home.) I'm considering getting a newer netbook with greater functionality, just because I love the tiny things, but do you think I should invest in a full laptop for nursing school? Will you be bringing your laptops to class? I know Texas A&M requires laptops with certain programs preloaded. Does anyone know if the profs at UT-H want us to have certain programs? Thanks! :)

There are computer requirements on the UT Houston website I would check that out before I purchase a new one. I bought a new laptop a couple of months ago for school purposes. I'm waiting for what others say about bringing it to class everday because I'm unsure how they take notes as well.

So I don't know what to do...JM from admissions just called me and offered me a spot in the accelerated program (I have a Bachelor of Business) that starts in May but it's conditional because I have to accept a scholarship from living in Fort Bend and do my clinicals out here in Fort Bend. I have until Monday to decide if I want to accept the spot or stick with my traditional spot. Did anyone apply for the accelerated, I didn't so I don't know too much about it. I really have no idea what to do!!
