UT Houston Fall 2010 (University of Texas at Houston)

Anyone here applied already?

Have you taken the NET exam?

I have applied, but have not taken the NET yet. I will be taking the NET on Jan 9th. Good Luck to all!!

I applied. I'm already nervous because it's the only BSN program I'm applying to. I live in Houston, so UTMB is too far for me, and I couldn't get all of my sciences completed this spring for TWU. I'm also applying to HCC and Lonestar, so I'll be in nursing school somewhere!

I took my NET and got a 98 or 99 on math and an 85 on reading. I'm debating taking it again because my science score was in the 70s, and I'm not thrilled with that. Do they even look that or the grammar section? I don't know if I could do it again, though. It was early, and long, and the proctors made an already stressful test even worse. I'm also worried I'd do worse, and they take your most recent score, not the best.

The one good thing about the NET was that I got my score in the mail way before I expected. I took it the Saturday before Thanksgiving and got my score the next Saturday.

Anyone going to the information session this month? I couldn't get off from work in time.

WOW wannabetxnurse, you did a great job. No need to retake the NET!! I don't think they look at the science section. You might want to confirm. So are you good at math? That is the part of the test that is going to kill me and I am so stressed over it! :crying2:

Well, I've taken math through calculus, but there's a huge difference between calc and fractions. I actually spent a few weeks trying to remember how to do fractions without a calculator again!

You have 30 questions in 30 minutes, so one question per minute. It's fractions, decimals, and a few ratio questions. I found http://www.testprepreview.com/net_test_breakdown.htm to be a huge help in studying.

One thing I found out by reading posts from people who applied to the spring program is that you need a 70 on both reading and math to get an interview, so it's not like you need a perfect score.

Thanks for the link. Let me know if you get an interview!

I took the test on Dec. 19 originally Dec. 5.

Without really studying, I made 93 in Math and 79 Science Reading Comprehension.

If people are right about the 70,70 scores, I will definitely get an interview!!

I was really stressed out!

Now, I have to take Net exam for PVAMU and TEAS for UTMB.

I can't believe the deadline is in just 10 days! I'm very nervous about getting an interview with UT Houston. My Net scores weren't great 83 Math and 76 Reading. I was told you just needed a 70 in both subjects to get an interview though. I have a gpa of 3.75 science, 3.73 pre-req and 3.0 overall. Good luck to everyone! The waiting game now begins...

Wow so the deadline is this week and I am very nervous....

I score a 97 on the math and a 73 on the reading section of the net. My overall GPA is a 3.86 and my science gpa is a 3.75. I hope I at least get an interview... Good luck all!!!

P.S. As you guys get interview letters do you mind posting it and also your stats...

Good Luck to you all...Where did you take the NET? Are you allowed to retake it? I am hoping to apply for Spring 2011 but i'd like to follow this thread and see how you guys are doing. I am going to the info session next mth & i'm sure I'll know more @ the program after that.

I emailed UTHSC a few weeks ago and they told me they take your science, prereq and overall gpa and combine them. They then use that number when choosing who gets interviewed and accepted. They told me that 3.6 was the average for last semester. So there were combined GPA's less than and greater than a 3.6. Hopes this helps with everyones nerves

OnMyway- You have very good GPA's I'm sure you'll get an interview. Are you applying anywhere else? I'm also applying to UTMB. There average combined GPA that gets accepted is 3.2. I have a 3.47 combined GPA so I'll be happy to get in anywhere :)

I took the NET in August but I can't remember what my score was, does anyone know how to find out what our scores were? I can't find that paper they sent me in the mail. I recently moved and I'm afraid it might've gotten lost.
