Have you taken the NET exam?
I looked into those apartments off of Holly Hall, but I read online reviews that said there were a bunch of car break-ins. I would love to hear what your friends think about them, though, since online reviews are often really biased.
My friends live around the Holly Hall Townhomes. There's a security guard in the front who checks in visitors and gives tags out. I've never had anything bad happen to me or my car in the last four years I've hung out/slept over in that area and it feels safe to me at least. Behind the townhomes are nicer apartments. I think the street is called El Mundo or something like that. There's a San Melia and a San Marin apartment complex that are both gated and have guards out at the front. Never heard anything bad happen there either and I have a friend who lives in one of the complexes. Across the street is a Parque del Oro and I HAVE heard about a few break-ins there as there's no guard out front and very minimal security aside from the gates.
Those are the ones that I really know about. There's also an apartment complex called Green Gables (or at least I think that's what it's called...) and there's one off Kirby and one off Greenbriar. Both are walking distance to the Light Rail. The Greenbriar one is smack dab in the middle of the Medical Center and the Kirby one is a little more on the outskirts of the medical center, closer to Relient Stadium. Both are gated, though there are no guards. My aunt lives in the Greenbriar complex and I also had a friend live in the Kirby complex and neither has had anything bad happen.
Let me know if you need anymore help! I've lived here all my life and I grew up close to the Med Center so I know a bit that might help! :)
I am so happy to hear we CAN use macbooks! I am very attached to my macbook pro and wouldn't want to change to a pc haha. The only thing I'm worried about is that I can't access UTLink now on my macbook and have to use my mom's computer. Does anyone know if you can get Internet Explorer on a mac?

If you can get Firefox on your Mac (I don't know if you can, I have very little Mac experience) there's an add-on called IE Tab that shows IE pages in a Firefox browser. It accesses UTlink perfectly! Here's a link to the add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419

or you can also use safari. If you go to the top of the screen and click the develop option, then hover over user agent, then you can pick internet explorer. It works great... also this is JUST special to utlink... you'll use the email system and blackboard during the school year...any web browser is compatible with those websites. You'll NEVER check utlink while you're in school (just for registration.... aaaand that's about it). You just use it a lot now because it's the only way of communicating with the school. Most of us have already forgotten how to log into utlink...we'll all probably have to reset our pins once registration comes around again.

yeah you go through around 60 to 120 slides each lecture. So actually 2000 is a conservative guess.
