Anyone here applied already?

Have you taken the NET exam?

I don't know how everyone else is feeling, but I am super nervous. I'm on the 16th. Still gotta figure out what to put on my resume; I live a rather mediocre life. I don't know if there is anything I could put on the resume that would even stand out. Anyone run into that block. Is it even that important? I'm more nervous about the writing sample than I am about the interview.

As far as your resume, I dont know. You could start with a resume format and let that guide you. It may help you remember some things you want to put on the resume.

There are some writing sample prompts listed in previous threads. They will hep you get a feel of what it will be about. The writing sample is no big deal from everyone I know that had to do it. You just have to relax and answer the question to the best of your ability. I dont think it is so much a right and wrong answer but more of a tool for the committee to evaluate how you reason.

Some of the past groups that have applied have some great information in them. Very informative.

You can do it! Good luck!

I have my interview tomorrow. I'm super excited and nervous. I have my suit and shoes picked out and my resume printed out. I'm as ready as I can be! Good luck to everyone!

Is there a certain length the essay has to be?

My interview was about 10-15 minutes. I don't remember it was such a blur but it wasn't any longer than that. They give you a page to write your essay on. It doesn't say a require length. I just tried to fill the page. As for the resume I didn't have an exciting one either. I just made sure that I used correct grammar, spelling, and format. She didn't ask me any questions about my resume or my essay so I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. That's what bothers me the most about my interview. I thought she was bound to ask me some question about my resume or essay. The interview questions were pretty generic like she was reading them from a list.

I keep forgetting to ask someone one particular question about the interview. Is the interview done by a whole panel of interviewers or is it just a one on one interview? This would definitely help alleviate some anxiety; the last interview I had was done by 12 people...scary...

I interviewed with just one person but I have heard in the past it maybe two but definitely not 12. Good Luck

Did they ask about W's, past bad grades, or retakes? This is my downfall. I had a couple bad semesters 5 years ago. Also, are they looking at your transcript, resume, or any kind of paper while interviewing you?

She did ask me about withdrawls. She also ask me how many times I took A&P(which was once that seemed to be a plus) but she did say they are focused on your recent history.(if that make sense) I was in LVN school when I was 17(9 yrs. ago) and I withdrew from the program that's when she said they look at what you have done recently. She had a paper she was writing on but she didn't look to be refering to anything else. She also didn't ask me anything about my resume or essay so I don't know if others might be different.

Kjenni- I was also in Lvn school when I was 17(8 years ago) and withdrew. This has been haunting me since. I've been so worried about that! Like I said, my first couple semesters weren't good at all. I have withdrawl's and bad grades from many years ago but no recent problems. Good luck to you and thanks for the info!!

They asked any Withdrawals, D's, F's Repeats.

How did you do with A & P

Any current preq. that you still need to take

Full time student?

One on one interview for me

we were like 1-2 feet away with the table in between us

she has your resume in front of her

She will be writing stuff down in the first half of the interview

and will stop after asking the D's F's etc. (at least for me)

4-6 generic nursing questions

took about 10-15mins like what Jenni said

it seems like it was shorter thou

I received my letter for an interview on Feb.22. Instead of jumping for joy I stood there in silence. I'm so nervous. I'm glad to have found this website with other people in the same boat. I was surprised to get the interview myself but I want it sooo bad. I hope to be in the nursing program with the rest of you. I noticed other semester forums starting facebook groups. Has anyone done this for fall 2010. Any tips for the interview and paper writing process? Would greatly apreciate it. Good luck everyone!!

Mine is on the 22nd too. Good luck!!!

I had my interview today. I don't know what to think.

In the first hour I was given short answer questions about working with computers and an essay (HINT: Look through previous semester threads!) I know I did REALLY well on the tech questions, and I think my essay was pretty good, too. Then I was walked upstairs to an interviewer. I really can't tell what she thought of me. She seemed irritated... I hope it was all in my head. :crying2: She asked questions from a list and wrote down my answers.

Good news, according to the admissions lady who took me up to my interviewer, they're interviewing 300 applicants, admitting 50 to the new Pacesetters BSN program, and another 100 to the regular BSN program. I had thought that the odds of getting accepted were much lower, so I was very reassured.
