Hello Future Nurses,

Wanted to know if anyone was preparing to take the Hesi a2, and or applying to UT Houston before the Jan. 15, 2014 deadline for Fall 2014???? I would like to form a study forum!!

So I just received my acceptance letter in the mail for the pacesetter program. The letter was post marked for April 10th and we didn't get it until today, however after I got it I checked my email to see if they sent one, and in the email it said I had to confirm by April 11th. I got the email in March, and I accepted the offer tonight and everything went smooth. I was wondering if that happened to anyone else. I know that for A&M if you did not accept the offer by the deadline it was revoked, but the deadline was before I even received my letter so I just wasn't sure.

Anyways, I read some other people's STATs and I'm pretty surprised I got in and they didn't. My GPA/scores weren't super high by any means so I'm really not sure what they're looking for. The whole application process is so frustrating, you never know what they want. I would call and ask them what's up so maybe you can re apply with whatever critique they give you. Also I looked for a fb page but didn't see one if anyone has info on that!

Just search for uthsc houston son class of december 2015. You'll see a bunch of other classes when you start typing it in. Congrats on getting in!

Hello everyone,

I have been following this chat for some time now, and it has been very helpful for me to know that I have not been alone in this stressful process. I have a 4.0 nursing GPA, a 3.95 overall GPA, a 97% on the HESI, and a previous bachelors degree, but I received my denial from UTH two weeks ago. I was extremely disappointed until they called about 10 days ago to tell me that they had made a mistake on my transcript evaluation and that I would be moved to the waitlist (which only has 9 people by the way), where I would find out by early July. At this point, I was frustrated and felt it was unfair that their error caused me to not be considered. However, I was patient with UTH and I am excited to say that I got accepted today for the pacesetter program!!

So, I got a denial letter, waitlist letter, and acceptance letter from the same school for the same application period. My point in writing this is to encourage all of you to be persistent and know that everything will work out in the end. Best wishes to everyone in the future!

Wow congrats! I'm glad it worked out for you in the end...btw your HESI score is excellent. I have been placed on the waitlist, so does that mean there is eight of us on the waitlist? I called today to find out how many are on the list and the woman on the phone said she wasn't able to give me that info. I was surprised that she wasn't able to tell me.... I didn't think it was a big deal. :(

No, there should be 9 total on the wait list now. It has definitely been hard to get information at times, and unfortunately I'm not even sure how the wait list is ranked. :/ But I think you have a really good chance too!

Thanks for the info, any new news counts... The only thing I was told is that I should know something by August, that's still over 3 months away! But your right patience is key and I know that I will eventually get in somewhere. Good luck in the future!

The exact same situation happened to me @mindylahiri! This whole application process has been an emotional roller coaster, but I am so glad it worked about for the both of us! It is definitely worth the wait! I look forward to meeting you! And hang in there @motchy10 :)

Well, I called the school to request a transcript evaluation so that I could see if I needed to work on something to improve my chances and they informed me that they haven't received one transcript. I called my school because I know they sent it and they show me the confirmation of the transcript sent electronically. I'm so upset because that is probably the reason I didn't get in. That transcript had my A's in A&P 1 and 2. I called again and still they could not find it. I'm so devastated. I had already been done with all my classes before I applied and I had a green circle. This time I'm going to be on top of everything even if I become annoying!!!!

WOW!!!! That is so disturbing. I would have just died right there. I'm sorry that happened to you, and it's so frustrating because you're hit with a "well, there's nothing we can do at this point" kind of response. And it sucks because you paid 100 plus dollars for nothing.

that is so ridiculous. Because no one there answers the phone or emails during application time. I remember calling and emailing them to ask about my transcripts. I left messages and no one every called me back or emailed me back for THREE months! Which was clearly past the deadline. It would have been very hard for you to check and see if they had received your transcript. :/

Even though I didn't get accepted it still doesn't say denied online. it gives false hope haha.

Does anyone know what the class schedule for the FNP program at UTHSC in houston is like. Is this a hybrid program where you go to school on campus once a week then do the rest online or is it classes everyday of the week?
