UPENN BSN MSN 2020

Updated:   Published

With the application deadline in ~30 days I figured, why not make a thread for applicants? I could've sworn I started a thread for this last week but can no longer find it. I'm applying for the PMHNP speciality and although UPenn is a relatively new addition, I have fallen in love with their program. Looking forward to replies from everyone.

Hey! I saw you also applied to Jeff... got into the FACT2 yesterday. Maybe we will be at the same school pursuing neonatal ? the wait for Penn is making me crazy.

@neurolauren Congratulations! I was so excited to be accepted to TJU but really hoping for penn nnp program... Hopefully we both get some good news in February! ?

Has anyone else applied to the BSN/MSN for Women's Health and Gender Related NP? I have not heard anything since October 22nd when they sent a confirmation email that my application has been received.

Hi, applied for FNP specialty and have not heard anything email. My confirmation email was received on 10/15. I was just wondering if anyone knows if there are NOT interviews required for our specialty, if we simply won’t hear anything until decisions come out in 2020?

@RN7y2950 I went to an info session at penn and I'm pretty sure FNP was not one of the specialties that would have another interview.... they mentioned one of the acute care specialties for interviews if that helps anyone ?

@RN7y2950 With this, you won't be hearing back until the beginning of February!

Anyone happen to know the class size for each specialty?

Specializes in Mental Health, trauma, addiction, injury preventio.

Good question, I think it varies from program to program. Most of their classes are very small and tight knit. Did anyone by chance apply to the ABSN/PhD program ?

Specializes in Clinical Transplant Coordinator.

I submitted my application for the BSN/MSN in AG-ACNP specialty back on 10/14, but my application still says incomplete bc my GRE score has not been verified.

Is anyone else’s application still showing incomplete?

I emailed the Penn admissions folks back on 10/25, and they confirmed that they do have my paper GRE score and that it would be uploaded during “the next few weeks.” But I’m feeling a bit nervous now that it has been well over a month since my app was submitted. This wait is tough!!

Mine took a while but it shouldn't be that long. Sometimes the system doesn't update itself. Also they are still going through applications.

My application status finally says complete as of today. They are definitely still processing materials.

Does anyone know when we will be notified about a potential interview? I applied to Psych so I guess this is the specialty that needs additional interview. Just want to plan ahead in case there is one...

@ACoolGoose

Hi there! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I applied to the psych speciality as well. I know we all received general emails after our applications were completed stating that if an interview was necessary we would be contacted in the upcoming weeks. Although it does not seem anyone else has heard anything further, myself included. Based on previous years forums it seems the psych specialty requires an in person interview. Unfortunately I think it's just a waiting game at this point, I'm sure it does not help that its the end of the semester and holiday season as well. Hopefully we'll all hear back soon! Wishing you all the best of luck!! ?
