Ugh. Just got reamed by a parent who sent Albuterol vials in a baggy. No name, no orders, nothing but a note to give it to junior at 11:30. "I don't mean to be sh*** to you but this is just ridiculous" she says at the end of the rant. She has never heard of such a thing.
Ugh. Mondays. Parents. Parents on Mondays.

Kindly remind her that if she doesn't want to comply with the medication policy, that she is more than welcome to come to school and give her child the medicine. Tuesday is getting closer with every breath. Hang in there chasin. We are all in this boat together.

I came in late because my daughter had an orthodontist appointment this morning.
Guess what I found in my mailbox in the front office? An RX bottle with 5 Vyvanse capsules and a sticky note attached saying please give to my son at 11:45. Alrighty, then...seems legit!

Refer to your medication policy in the handbook and stay strong. If she has an issue with the policy, YOU are not the one to take it up with. She can go to the school board.
I had a parent upset with me that nobody would let her in the building on Friday at 4:45 so that she could sign in ADHD medication. The office closes and the entire staff (including myself) hightail it out of here at 3:45 on Fridays. Even Mon-Thursday, we close at 4:00.

I follow up with an email that attaches the permission form and both the state law and school district policy, that way there is a digital trail for when it happens again.

Does this kid even have a neb machine at school? Otherwise how does she want you to administer them. Some days this job makes me wonder if people can really be that stupid. The Vyvanse one...I literally shook my head at this one.

Good point, but the parent probably just said something like "i need to leave this for the nurse" or the person accepting it didn't know policy and sure as heck didn't know what type of pill it was
Yep, front office staff has no idea. They basically say, "hey, this looks medical. Let's give it to the nurse!" Schedule II med sits in my wide open mailbox for all staff to pass by for 2 hours this morning until I arrive. Awesome.
