Hey -
I am a recent grad from Duke University ABSN and am applying to the University of Washington DNP - FNP program. I was just curious if there is anyone else out there that also applied to the Fall 2014 start DNP program at UW.
It would be nice to discuss the process together. :-)
Hey DukeRN, I am currently a BSn student graduating in a few weeks and have sat in on the DNP info sessions. Most of the DNP students I know are pretty busy and have worked full-time or were TAs in the classroom or in the learning lab, I love our TAs in the lab. I think the actual classes are every Thursday or e/o Thursday from 0700-1900. I sat in on the DNP pathophys classes this year and I was sort of freaked out when no one was there. Little did I know they were Webcam sessions. Convenient for full-time people, but I got to ask questions directly to the lecturer when I was in the classroom and got further clarification or could dig deeper into their knowledge. The lecture was so damn fast though I wish I had access to the recordings to watch over and over. I can try and answer more of what I know of the program if you want, or I can email you a close friends contact info who is close to wrapping it all up.
Has anyone received their financial aid packets yet? I know the deadline for applying for grants and scholarships is this Friday, but I haven't gotten anything from UW re: loans and whatnot. Has anyone else? I'm just starting to get things organized and figured out and this is a big thing to get sorted out!
Sobergirl,
I'm moving from out of state. I was looking at places outside of Seattle because rent seems to be way less. I'm thinking of the Renton area next to Boeing and commuting to UW since we only have to be on campus 1x/week the first year. Anyone interested in doing carpool for the days we have to be on campus?
Anyone hear about financial aid? I submitted the School of Nursing Financial Aid Application, but no response yet. I also follow the Financial Aid blog.
Let me know if you start a FB group!

Hello all, & congrats to those of you who have been accepted! :)
I am a BSN student who will be finished/taking the NCLEX around this time next year.
I would love to hear about your nursing experiences up to this point and also would really appreciate any tips on applying to the UW-DNP program (especially for the FNP track)!
Thanks!
