Hi NP hopefuls! Starting a thread for those applying to the UVic NP Program for fall 2025. I am an RN who graduated from U of C in 2020 and have been working in cardiology in Calgary since.

does anyone know how many seats are available at UVIC? I know UBC is 60 now

I think I read somewhere that UVIC increased it to 50 seats? Does anyone know how many applicants there are expected to be for the 2025 fall start? I'd just like to know roughly how difficult it will be to get accepted. I'm anxiously waiting as well! The site still reads "under review by department" for me.

Does anyone know if the post masters program looks at your undergrad or grad GPA?

I talked to someone in the Grad dept. this week and she said they'll be releasing the results before the end of the month. She said online it will update to accepted or rejected, but if you're waitlisted it will still say 'Under review'. An email will also be sent out that sometimes goes to spam, so look for that if your status doesn't change, it would tell you if you're waitlisted or not.

Last Summer, I found out that the post-degree NP cohort embedded within the bigger class has 5 seats available, only had 12 applicants last year, and only looks at your Master's GPA, not the undergrad.

Nothing on the UVIC portal for me but, I am hopeful it will be short weeks for the UVIC hopefuls! hang in there 🙂

Mine too. If anyone gets a status change please let the group know! Waitlisted people's status won't change but if your accepted or rejected it will. So fingers crossed for everyone!
