  1. @ShellyTheJelly- they told me it would be arriving sometime this week. I haven't received it yet.
  2. Hi guys, I got accepted this year after being waitlisted last year at UVic and rejected everywhere else. I have 11 years nursing experience, critical care advanced nursing certificate, certified practice in contraceptive management, picc clinician... and I got rejected hardcore last year. I asked every school for feedback and the only one who did was UVic, so UVic was the only place I applied again this year. I was so bitter. They (UVic) told me (when I was waitlisted) that I had a competitive GPA, strong references, strong work experience, and a strong admissions essay. They had MINIMAL constructive feedback for me as to how I could be more competitive next time (ie this year) except they did tell me: -Shadow an NP and write about it in your admissions essay -Explain the role of the NP more clearly AND THAT IS IT. I was absolutely devastated last year because I happened to know some of the nurses who made it in and I did not understand what they had that I did not. Things that I did in addition that I was able to highlight in the "reapplication letter" that they ask you to do if you've applied before- I took a couple of continuing education courses through coursera and UBC CPD to beef up my cultural awareness, and I went to NNPBC conferences with my partner (an NP) anytime I had the chance/guests were invited. It seems to be a crapshoot. I am grateful that I got in this year... but I do believe it was luck. Unpopular opinion, I am sure. Make sure to ask them for feedback on what you could have done to be more competitive.
  3. This is absolute lunacy... to start changing statuses at the end of the day! Anyone else have a status change? (Not me)
  4. I'm assuming we have a pact that if anyone hears anything they'll post here, right? It will stay as "Under Review by Department" if you're waitlisted, so nothing will ever change on the dashboard, which is what happened to me last year.
  5. Not great news, guys. It might still be a while. "Hi Jodi, Thanks for checking in. The MN NP and NP Post-Degree applications are currently under review by the faculty committee. We expect decisions to be updated in the system online by late March or early April. Admission offers and refusals are updated in the system online first, followed by an email afterwards. Waitlist offers are sent via email but don't show in the system." So there's that. I can stop obsessively checking. It won't be this weekend, it seems.
  6. I caved and sent an email. I will share the response with you guys, even if it's me getting my hand slapped. I couldn't take it anymore!
  7. I know. If we have to wait the whole weekend I'm going to get an ulcer.
  8. Hey... you had four references?!? I thought they asked for two! Oh GOD...a new thing to worry about ??
  9. Mine now shows under review by department, as it was before. I'm also hoping I didn't just get wait listed again! If anyone has any other result please share LOL
  10. Blank page for me, too! Is anyone able to see their status at all?
  11. Mine too. If anyone gets a status change please let the group know! Waitlisted people's status won't change but if your accepted or rejected it will. So fingers crossed for everyone!
