Hi NP hopefuls! Starting a thread for those applying to the UVic NP Program for fall 2025. I am an RN who graduated from U of C in 2020 and have been working in cardiology in Calgary since.
I have applied (as a re-applicant) for UVIC 2025 and also UNBC. I missed the deadline for TRU as they changed their GPA requirements to the last 60 credits instead of just your BSN and last year I didn't meet their requirements. I have just finished my remote nursing certification with UNBC and completed my mandatory stats course in the Spring. Really hopeful this time around.
Hi fellow applicants,
Application submissions close tomorrow!! Im sure everyone is eagerly waiting to find out. Does anyone know how many applications UVIC receives? I do believe they opened up way more seats this year so the odds are better than previous years. Any intel would be nice.
Thanks in advance,
Jess Z
I didn't see it anywhere either but what I did submit was what "stream" I wanted to do with my NP, ie primary care. I had written something similar for my application to UNBC as well. Hopefully that is what they were looking for! Good luck everyone. Last year I found out in March that I did not get in.

Last year I heard from UVIC March 20th (I was not successful), so hopeful this year!
Hey! I applied last year too (TRU, UNBC and UVic) and was waitlisted to UVic, but didn't end up making it in - ugh. Applied only to UVic this year because I was so irritated with UNBC's application and how harsh they seemed with the rejection letter. Ha! Maybe I was a bit sensitive at the time but whatever. UVic only for me this year! Fingers crossed for us!
Ah good to know! I had a good experience with UNBC with their remote nursing certification so I was more hopeful for UNBC but I lack research experience. I missed the TRU application as last year their rule was no less than 3.00 in undergrad (which I don't have), but this year they opened it to the last 60 credits of post secondary (which I have a much higher GPA!) I got into the Masters of Nursing program for September at TRU as a back up for NP!
I didn't get into UVIC last year due to GPA but have done my stats and remote nursing so I am really hopeful this year! I hate the waiting game!!

Hey everyone,
I was looking over the application to make sure I have submitted all the documentation. Does anyone know what we are supposed to upload for the section "Statement of Intended Study"? Is this in addition to the 800 word personal statement where we answered all the questions?
