University of Texas at Arlington Fall 2020 Cohort

Published

Hello Everyone!!

It is finally my time to post to this forum! EXCITING!!! I did not see a thread for Fall 2020 and I might be SUUUUPER early but man that nursing application process takes proper a year doesn't it?

I am done with all my general courses and TEAS except for nursing chem, one elective (health and human disease), Patho, Pharm, and Intro to Nursing. I plan to take CHEM 1451 and HEED 4312 in the Fall 19 semester, apply in January, and then while waiting on that, take Patho and Intro to Nursing in Spring 2020 and Pharm by itself in Summer 2020.

I have an A in Micro, A&P 1, and A&P 2. This has been a LOOOONG journey and I cannot wait to start!

Why should a public university publish private scores of their students? That’s a total breach of private records of the students and the university. Every school has differ guidelines and rules for who they accept and who they don’t. Nothing is unfair. It is what it is. The more people complain publicly, the more noticeable you make yourselves. All I am saying is if you don’t like it, there are quite a few other schools you can attend. Complaining publicly on a well read chat website won’t make the situation any better.

How long did it take y’all to get y’all’s Texas BON Blue Card after fingerprinting?

Have you received your blue card in the mail? Texas BON stated that they mailed it to me February 20 but I still don’t have it.

Yea I would contact them because it took me about two weeks to receive it. You don't want to figure out that it has to get resent or something when its too late!

Is it a blue card or a letter? If it's a letter they can scan it and email it to you.

So I actually received my blue card 1 week and 3 days after I did fingerprinting. I did my fingerprinting this February 27th so I was surprised it came so fast. Also, they sent the blue card to my in-laws house, even though I don’t recall giving them any other address than my own.

Someone else in one of these threads said that when they had the same issue as you, they called the BON and spoke to a nice lady who scanned and emailed them their letter since they didn’t receive the one in the mail. If possible, try to do that.

because that is how underqualified ppl with 6.9 ( for example....or less) get accepted instead of ppl with 7.9 score...this is a corrupt practice that I am sure it happened many times...

It’s not corrupt. Read the guidelines for qualification. In the AO program, if you are partnered with one of the partnered, hospitals, you get consideration over someone that isn’t. It’s a rule that been in place for a long time. I’m not sure why you want to go to this school if you think it’s corrupt, unfair, etc. I’m sure there are plenty of people that would love to be in your shoes right now, George. Every school has their own rules for qualification.

Something off topic. I read in another thread that RNs now will be required to a residency , like MDs, any truth to that?? Aslo was curios but havent researched it yet , maybe someone knows anything -if you graduate BSN in Texas can you go and take the NCLEX in a different state, and jut get licensed there and stay there? Any restrictions to that?

Has anyone been taken off the wait list at this point?

From what I know, they haven’t rescinded acceptance offers from those that weren’t clinically compliant yet.

Hey all!

Waitlisted for AO BSN Fall 2020. My patience is wearing and this limbo is wearing heavily. I have applied to and been accepted to Concordia, but really need to go to UTA. I live 3 hours North of Austin so it's not exactly practical to attend. I pray that they start to let us know something. I am ready to start! All immunizations, BON blue card, all pre reqs and co reqs under my belt, and BLS CPR course taken. No partner hospital affiliation though. I will have a CNA certification come June, so I suppose if I have to reapply that may help??? IDK. Still trying to find a position with a partnered hospital group. 7.614 with 6 courses taken at UTA.
