University of Texas at Arlington Fall 2020 Cohort

Published

Hello Everyone!!

It is finally my time to post to this forum! EXCITING!!! I did not see a thread for Fall 2020 and I might be SUUUUPER early but man that nursing application process takes proper a year doesn't it?

I am done with all my general courses and TEAS except for nursing chem, one elective (health and human disease), Patho, Pharm, and Intro to Nursing. I plan to take CHEM 1451 and HEED 4312 in the Fall 19 semester, apply in January, and then while waiting on that, take Patho and Intro to Nursing in Spring 2020 and Pharm by itself in Summer 2020.

I have an A in Micro, A&P 1, and A&P 2. This has been a LOOOONG journey and I cannot wait to start!

Hey all!

Waitlisted for AO BSN Fall 2020. My patience is wearing and this limbo is wearing heavily. I have applied to and been accepted to Concordia, but really need to go to UTA. I live 3 hours North of Austin so it's not exactly practical to attend. I pray that they start to let us know something. I am ready to start! All immunizations, BON blue card, all pre reqs and co reqs under my belt, and BLS CPR course taken. No partner hospital affiliation though. I will have a CNA certification come June, so I suppose if I have to reapply that may help??? IDK. Still trying to find a position with a partnered hospital group. 7.614 with 6 courses taken at UTA.

I don’t think cna cert is a consideration. Also, with everything going on, it will probably be longer before they start calling people off the waitlist. Remember the tb testing isn’t due until June 1. Also, there was people waitlisted with scores over 8.

I am also in the same boat. I hope they start letting people know soon.

Oh I know I read through all the 400 responses prior to this. LOL Just really tough trying to make a decision when we can be notified later than other programs begin. I just really want some feedback from others. I am not trying to force anything, but it's a difficult line to balance.

I have seen people as low as 6.6 getting waitlisted. We don’t know how they pick up the people from the waitlist.

I really don't know what else to do. I feel like I can't do anything to improve grades. I'm not willing to pays hundreds of dollars to raise a B to an A. My science is a 4.0. ?

They take people from the top down. Pretty normal. Also depends on where your at

Their AOBSN is very competitive. I think being partnered will be the best thing to do If you can do. I have 4 science and 4 overall GPA, but got waitlisted. I have no other consideration and I can’t do anything to raise my points. But, I have seen Partnered people with 6.9 points getting in.

Even more challenging to get job placement as several have rescinded all offers while in the midst of COVID. Ah the joys of life. LOL

hey did you get the email for the BLS certification..saying something about being hard to enroll right now? Dont they allow getting it through any agency..there are a lot of them offering that certificate online....
