University of Texas at Arlington Fall 2020 Cohort

Published

Hello Everyone!!

It is finally my time to post to this forum! EXCITING!!! I did not see a thread for Fall 2020 and I might be SUUUUPER early but man that nursing application process takes proper a year doesn't it?

I am done with all my general courses and TEAS except for nursing chem, one elective (health and human disease), Patho, Pharm, and Intro to Nursing. I plan to take CHEM 1451 and HEED 4312 in the Fall 19 semester, apply in January, and then while waiting on that, take Patho and Intro to Nursing in Spring 2020 and Pharm by itself in Summer 2020.

I have an A in Micro, A&P 1, and A&P 2. This has been a LOOOONG journey and I cannot wait to start!

yeah..that s what I did..I found a provider from the AHA website, did the online part and exam and will go tomorrow to do the in-person test for 15 mins(that s what she said) and get it done with...

They have to be approved by the American Heart Association. And you can only do the actual class online. You have to go test and do the skills check off in person.

Yes about the being approved wrong about only taking online. Stop spreading false info please

the UTA one is through Blue cross blue shield and runs you around $250 a month but it s a real insurance. I found cheaper ones but they barely cover anything...mostly a certain amount towards some major things, and deductibles of 10K

Hey so I went to the government website and I was offered some kind of monthly credit towards insurance. It would be nice if we could use that credit towards the University health insurance since it does seem like decent coverage. It is definately something you want in the a midst of a pandemic.

I went ahead and made flight, hotel, and car rental reservations for the July 22 orientation. I'm pretty psyched. I just hope UTA doesnt cancel it or change the date LOL.

Yes, it’s healthcare.gov. Open enrollment in is over for the year though. Obamacare. Lots of different plans. Been using it for three years as it’s less than my company offered insurance. All different ranges of plans and coverages

Yeah I havent really looked into obamacare until now. My health insurance has always been free through my employer but unfortunately I am going to discontinue my employment during the Summer so I need a decent health insurance plan.

It’s great , but you can’t enroll until November I think. You can check out all the plans though.

I didn't qualify for that credit , evethough I dont to much when I m o going to school, apparently u have to make below what is considered overty line, I assume?! IDK....but the UTA plan is good...it s discounted since we are full time students....the cheapest I found on blue cross was $350 a month with $9000 deductible. And an ex of mine is an insurance agent she told she has plans as cheap as $100 , but again they cover X amount of $$ only towards major events and the deductibles are still high ....

Then you weren’t doing it right. I make over 75k a year, I got it.

I was doing it right because the first time I actually did it with a representative over the phone. there are many factors that can DQ you such as having no children and not being married...unless they screwed me somehow...

guys is that that stuff on canvas we have to complete by end of June for the program time consuming? I still cant started cuz I m finishing a class online...
