University of Texas at Arlington Fall 2020 Cohort

Published

Hello Everyone!!

It is finally my time to post to this forum! EXCITING!!! I did not see a thread for Fall 2020 and I might be SUUUUPER early but man that nursing application process takes proper a year doesn't it?

I am done with all my general courses and TEAS except for nursing chem, one elective (health and human disease), Patho, Pharm, and Intro to Nursing. I plan to take CHEM 1451 and HEED 4312 in the Fall 19 semester, apply in January, and then while waiting on that, take Patho and Intro to Nursing in Spring 2020 and Pharm by itself in Summer 2020.

I have an A in Micro, A&P 1, and A&P 2. This has been a LOOOONG journey and I cannot wait to start!

yup, I graduate next august. I just won't have a Summer break. but I'm OK with that. it was an option when you submitted your fall app. I clicked it but didn't think I had a chance.

I didn't even see that option....but I really dont have time for on-campus classes....so you ll graduate 3 months earlier that us?

yep it was at the top. It said "would you like to be considered for a Summer 2020 program start date?" and it said it was only for students with complete immunizations. I clicked it cause I had all my stuff done. I finish the program august of next year. I start J1 April 18 of this year.

this is also the first year they are offering the Summer start date for on campus students.

I know it s first year...when I met Flores she said they are planning on doing it but it wasn't done yet...so the Summer program starts April 18th????

yep I think it was still just talk and then they had a lot of applicants. most of the students I go to classes with on campus applied. it starts may 18 not April 18 my bad.

IDK about applicants but Spring of 19 the accepted only 180 students in AOBSN, that s how much available spots they ve had based on the state funding for clinicals, now they said 400 , but I m not sure if that is both AO and on campus..most like yes cuz I doubt it the state was able to double the funds....

so I read somewhere on this thread that we need to submit BLS certification? Is that true, and if so where?

oh my bad LOL

about a Blue Card or a Letter. Some people earlier said that they got a letter but not a card and no record and that letter doesnt mean you have a criminal record, it might mean you moved a lot. That s not true..I just spoke to Flores and then to BON - the letter you ve got - IS a Declaratory Order, and that is why you didn't get a blue card.....could be a charge , could be something form 20 years ago that was dismissed or expunged, but there was something with your name wither being fingerprinted at a police station or just showed on in court and your name is in a the court data base as a plaintiff or a defendant..it s only about Class C misdemeanor traffic/criminal violation or above..

What do y'all think of this?

I ve never liked the former president of UTA - what a sleazeball...and Academic Partnership - these are the ones who kept on calling you and represnt themselves as some type of adviser...- I ve always hung up on them...as far as WGU - the are nothing compared to UTA and it s of no surprise they dont have as many students...How many other state universities in TX came up with an online BSN for non RNs???? Zero.....
