University of South Alabama FNP

I am applying to USA's FNP program for this fall. I would love to hear from someone who is currently attending or who has recently graduated from this program. Did you have trouble finding clinical preceptors? Are the professors available if you have questions or concerns? How often do you have to visit campus? Overall, are you satisfied with the education you are receiving?

Thanks

So if I have a 3.4GPA I shuld be okay I had heard that they were mostly only accepting applicants with a 3.5 and higher.

I wonder what GPA can take you into the program, because I did not get in with GPA 3.7 and more that 10 years of nursing exp in various fields. I applied for FNP.

Specializes in Adolescent Psych, PICU.

I applied for Spring '10 Psych NP program, I haven't heard anything back from them yet (not expecting to until next month I guess). I did get an email from them saying they had over 900 applicants. For how many seats and what programs most are for I have no idea, but that scared me!

Anyone else heard anything??

I applied for the pediatric nurse practitioner program and haven't heard anything either, other than the email about 900 applicants.

Specializes in Pediatrics, home health, travel nurse.

I applied to the FNP program and got the same email regarding 900 applicants. So does any know how many students they take per specialty or is just overall? My stats exceeds their minimum requirements but 900 is a little redonkulous!

I'm in the FNP program at USA and should be graduating December 2011. I think there are about 150-200 in my class at this time. I don't know how many I will graduate with though. Hope that helps! (oh, and I started Fall 2009)

I've applied for USA's Spring 2011 Peds nurse practitioner program with intentions to add on the educational component. Waiting patiently for a letter. Anyone get a letter for spring yet??? Thinking I should have applied for DNP instead if the PNP #'s were that high....

They said they'd send out emails to those accepted. Has anyone received an email from them about getting accepted?

I am in the 2010 class.....at USA FNP-we started with like 180---finishing with about 85.

I have heard very good things about the clinical portion of the PNP program at USA from classmates.

Specializes in Adolescent Psych, PICU.

Talknw:

I have not heard anything. I applied for the Family Psych program.

Do you know when they were planning to send out emails?

Hi Marilynmom that's what I'm trying to figure out when they send out emails. Do you think they'll notify this week?
