University of Michigan (UofM) Accelerated program

Published

Hi everyone!!! I am new to allnurses.com - I was wondering if anyone has applied for the Fall 2009 accelerated program? I have not been able to attend an information session due to scheduling conflicts. Does anyone know how many people apply to the program or know any "insider" info? I know that 50 people get in every year - I just submited my application last week for the early response deadline - good luck to all!!

So to everyone that was admitted, where do you plan on living in the Fall?

So I just e-mailed UofM to see if they had an approximate date of when all the decisions would be made. Hopefully they will e-mail me back, and when they do I'll let everyone know what they said.... I know there are a lot of other people out there who are still waiting!

Hi everyone!

I'm still waiting to hear back from U of M too. I applied in early January, kind of late, but I thought I'd hear something from them by now. I talked to a lady at admissions yesterday about when I would hear back, and she told me they typically finish their admissions by the beginning of may, but not to hold her to that since they have a ton of applicants this year. So, for all of you still waiting, it looks like we only have a few weeks left to wait...what a relief! Don't get discouraged, we still have a good shot...U of M is known for taking FOREVER! Good Luck!

Hey All, congratulations to everyone who got in!!

I posted to this thread last year when I was looking into schools and haven't really been back since. I was accepted a couple of months ago and was interested to meet the class.

Where is everyone planning on living in the fall?

Can't wait to see you all at orientation :yeah:

I have no idea where I will be living in the Fall. I guess I'm going to need to do some apartment shopping sometime soon. I am hoping to possibly find another dude in the nursing program to live with, that would be pretty sweet.

Wait listed!! :yeah: Yes I am happy about being wait listed. It's a glimmer of hope! and hey, I wasn't rejected so that's good!! Wow it feels good to just know! I don't know what to do with myself now that I don't have to check my application status constantly! hahaha

Well, I got waitlisted after checking my mailbox religiously for the past 3 months.

It's nice to know I meet their criteria, but still being in limbo is a bit unsettling. I am getting married next year in June and the sooner I find out, the more time I have to plan the wedding, look for an apartment, leave my job, and get my butt ready for school. I am having surgery this summer too if you can believe that.

For those of you that got waitlisted in the past, how long did you have to wait before they told you that you were in?

About one month to the day I was notified I was taken off the waitlist and accepted. God bless!

Hey everyone,

I was wondering for those who were waitlisted/accepted/rejected... did all of these decisions appear online, or did you have to wait to receive them in the mail?

I found out by checking wolverine access and then I received a letter in the mail a few days later.

I was notified via Wolverine Access, email, AND mail. Wolverine Access was the way I found out, though. The rest followed within a week. If it says "you've accepted admission to the university," you're in. If it has a link that says "view decision," you've been given the option of waitlist, and if it says "decision arriving in mail," then it's a rejection... although I haven't heard too many rejections this year - LOTS of waitlists. Best of luck to you if you applied this year!

Heya fellow Spartan!

I found out by snail-mail; but I probably SHOULD have been furiously logging in to Wolverine Access like everybody else. :p
