I know the wait is frustrating (I waited for 6 months last year so believe me I know!) but you have to understand that "you know who" can't go check on every application and the status of it. If she did that for even one person then everyone else would want it done for them. Plus she might not even know when they are planning to release more decisions. Just remember she's one person vs 300+ applicants. Also, I know the wait for UofM makes you want to pull your hair out, but when I get frustrated I think about the fact that UofM looks at every detail of an application. Some schools (MSU) only really look at your GPA. At least UofM takes the time to look at everything. Hang in there everyone. I hope you all hear good news soon!! :)

I have a question for the people who got accepted into the program. Did anyone submit letters of recommendations with your application? I know the program doesn't require them but at an informational session someone asked if they could submit them and she said you could and they may look at them. It wasn't a very confident, "yes you should definitely submit them." I'm only worried because I'm afraid submitting them could be seen as not following directions because they are not part of the application. So did anyone who got accepted submit letters of recommendations?

Hello! I'm just wondering if anyone has an opinion or has used both of these stethoscopes. They are both in my price range but I'm not sure which will be better. So MDF 767x or Littmann Lightweight II SE? Which one is the better of the two??

I think that's what they are doing too! I don't mean to be a downer but there is no way at this point in the year they haven't sent out the majority or all the acceptances letters. I'm sure there is a chance a few people wont accept and they will send an acceptance to someone else but at this point I have given up hope of getting in.

I know she said she enjoyed her clinical but I don't remember any specifics. I don't think you'll have to drive any more than an hour to clinical. You do get to write down you preferences for clinical sites. There are two hospitals in Lansing. I have volunteered and both and I think they are both great hospitals. I'm currently volunteering at Sparrow in the ER and I'm impressed that the staff spends time explaining things to me, teaching me, and letting me observe...and I'm just a volunteer! As for the support I think they did study in groups. It seemed to me that the students did a lot together and was a close group. You should definitely go the the informational session! I have been to two of them. You'll get more specifics on clinical and class schedules. Plus you get to see the nursing building at MSU.

I know someone who graduated from the program last year. She told me very good things about it and highly recommended it. It starts in May and is 4 straight semester so it's just like the traditional program without summer breaks. I sounds a little less intense then some programs like u of m's program because it's 14 months and Michigan's is 12. She said she felt very prepared after the program and she got a job right away. I took one class at state that was in the nursing college (pathophysiology) and if the rest of the classes are like that one then it's a great program. I graduated from MSU and that pathophysiology class was the best class I took there! I don't know if you are familiar with East Lansing and Lansing area but it's a great place to live. I applied to the program and didn't get in and I'm bummed because I think I really would have liked/done well in the program. oh well. If you got in you are very lucky and congratulations!

nope i still haven't heard anything. i e-mailed "you know who" at the uofm office asking if everything was ok with my application because last year i applied right at the deadline and found out in 11 weeks and this year i applied early and it's already been 12 weeks. i wanted to make sure they got everything and all i got back from her was: "the full review of applications is not yet complete. please be assured that you will be notified once the final decisions have been made. you will be able to view your decision in your wolverine access account." soooo that didn't really answer my question but oh well. i'm sure she gets a lot of those e-mails this time of year. hopefully we'll start hearing soon. i can't believe it's march 1st and most of us/ none of us heard anything. sigh

hummm I wonder if they meant to say by April. I can't believe they wouldn't release any decisions until April. And what about that Nick guy? Didn't he find out he got in? Jessxfm, did you hear anything this week?? About the U of M alum thing I think, in a way, they give preference to alums because they look at where you took your pre-reqs. Prep-reqs from UofM are going to look better to them than those from other places. But they have said they take a holistic approach so that's only part of what they look at. I really hope we all hear soon!

I can't believe they didn't release any decisions before the application deadline. So much for rolling admissions!

I'm not really sure what you're talking about but if it is part of the Common Application then yes. I thought there was a part that was asking about residency and family information that was for financial aid and that was optional. So if it's part of that, I think it's optional. Also, I think if it's required the the on-line application makes you put something in the space or you can't summit it.

Wow, I can't believe they haven't released any decisions yet. MSU sent out letters early. They said we wouldn't hear until mid February but I got my letter yesterday. Did they say when they might start making decisions??

I got my rejection letter today too. I was shocked to see the letter in my mailbox this soon! They said it wouldn't be until february.
