Hello all and Congratulations on your acceptance! :yeah:

I just wanted to start a new posting for everyone starting Spring 2011 at UMB/UMB Shady Grove for nursing school, all levels. Please post any questions/information that you wish to share here.

When i received my phone call this morning I was told that we all would be getting our letters and packets of information in the next week or two.

I am very excited to say the least. I am going to get working on getting my vaccine titers and looking into updating my CPR certification to the one needed for school. What all are you doing to get ready?

Packets will come after you have sent in your deposit and contract.

So there will be two mailings? I was told on the phone that we would be getting our information in the mail - but I guess that is our letter of acceptance, info about how to pay our deposit and contract?

Congratulations on your acceptance! I am currently finishing my first semester of the CNL program at the Baltimore campus, and would be happy to answer any questions you might have. This site was extremely helpful for me as I navigated through the application and orientation process, and would be happy to help if I can.

Best of luck to all of you on your nursing journey, and I look forward to seeing you in the halls in January.

Congratulations everyone!!! I am so excited to start in January! I will be attending the Baltimore Campus for Traditional BSN!

I am just a little unsure of what to do now that I see I have been accepted online. To accept the offer and put a deposit down, do I have to wait for the letter to come in the mail? Or is there a way to do this online before then?

Also, will we get a list of available dates to take the CPR classes or should we do this on our own as soon as possible?

Thanks for the help!! I cant wait to meet everyone! :)

Another question for Grey Lady:

When do we register for classes? Are we given a list of options or are we all pretty much in the same classes?

You will be in the same classes with everyone in your cohort. There is only one section of each class and you are guaranteed a seat in all your required classes. There is only one elective and you don't take that your first semester. So, unlike at other schools, registration is pretty easy - no decision-making or stressing about not getting into a required class. Registration instructions should be included in your packet.

I saw my online acceptance yesterday but I couldn't believe it until I received my phone call today :) I have been accepted to the Shady Grove campus - can't wait to meet everyone! Congratulations everyone!!!

btw I was told today that they are sending out all the acceptance packets by this week - some should receive theirs by end of the week and we all should receive the packets by beginning of next week :)

CNL and Baltimore BSN Orientation is Tuesday and Wednesday, January 18 and 19 all day both days on main campus in Baltimore. Your official acceptance letter will include information about paying the deposit.
