Hi everyone! I am taking the prerequisites I need to apply to the University at Buffalo ABSN program, to hopefully start in May 2021. I was wondering if anyone has any idea which types of applicants tend to get in (what kind of experience they have, etc.), and how much they value healthcare experience. Any input at all about the program is greatly appreciated!

Be careful! I don’t think Pharm through Portage Learning is an approved transfer for UB. I tried to get it approved, but it wasn’t. It could have changed recently, though.

Local, here! You?
Apparently Pharm at Cayuga CC transfers and you can take it non-matriculated online. Last I checked they weren’t enrolling non-matriculated for Spring yet but I’ll check again tonight. I’m taking that and patho at Erie in the Spring. I’m local but I got waitlisted - congratulations to you all!

How long ago did you ask about Pharm? On Taurus it says that it should transfer in. And I’m a senior at UB now so not a local technically but I’ve been living in Buffalo for a majority of the last 3 years!

They’re both cool cities and from my experience I don’t think there’s any major differences between the two! Buffalo is home of the Sabres and Bills which is fun, but I’m still a huge fan from Rochester! Rochester also has its own events and fun activities, so unfortunately I can’t give an opinion about preferences, I think they each have their own perks ? I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts if they’ve spent time in both Roc/Buff!

I checked back in Spring 2020 directly with nursing department.
I am not finding it on Taurus as approved.
Can you post a screenshot of what you’re seeing?
