Hi everyone! I am taking the prerequisites I need to apply to the University at Buffalo ABSN program, to hopefully start in May 2021. I was wondering if anyone has any idea which types of applicants tend to get in (what kind of experience they have, etc.), and how much they value healthcare experience. Any input at all about the program is greatly appreciated!

I had around a 3.6 overall and a 3.75 pre-req GPA. No healthcare experience (CNA) but lots of non-profit community work. Crossing my fingers for you!
Edit to add that I also graduated from UB
If you get into Binghamton will you go there?

I might, it’s really between Bing and Villanova University for me right now (it’s in Pennsylvania). I’m already in there but Bing is cheaper and closer to home so I’m trying to decide between the two if I even get into Bing! I love UB but I kind of want a change in scenery after 4 years and I don’t want to squeeze Pharmacology into my Spring right now either, but I’m not completely ruling UB out. I’m gonna sit down with my family once Bing gets back to me and decide officially!

I think I'd definitely choose Bing if I got in there.
Between UB and Brockport, that's tough. I think I'd perform better at Brockport since I'm pretty sure the cohort is smaller and the classes/clinicals are better distributed between 4 semesters. Plus I wouldn't have to jam in pharm and patho in the Spring while working full time like I would have to if I chose UB. Doing that back to back with the 27 credit Summer at UB scares me! I'm worried I'd fail out before the fall semester even starts!! But UB is an awesome school in general with a strong nursing department so ughhh I don't even know. Decisions, decisions!!
