Stony Brook ABSN Class of 2022

I believe they normally get a little less. ABSN programs have definitely been growing in popularity each year, which means more and more applications are coming in every cycle. And with the pandemic, there has been a significant increase in people interested in a career in nursing, so from what I’ve seen on the news and heard from admissions offices, there have been a lot of inquiries into Accelerated BSN programs. And I believe there won’t be any changes in number of seats/accepted students into many programs, including SBU, especially considering all the budget cuts colleges everywhere are facing. Also a lot goes in behind-the-scenes to increase the number of students in a cohort that we don’t see (professors, clinical rotations, etc).

Stony Brook ABSN Class of 2022

Been refreshing my email all morning but nothing yet! Last year they sent out the first round of interview invitations this week (Monday after Columbus Day weekend)!

    Binghamton BAT 2021-2022

No, it’s not just any English courses, they have certain requirements for them to accept the course. Like, the course should’ve included 20 pages of writing, at least, which counted for 50% of your grade, among other requirements. They didn’t accept some of the English courses I’ve taken before so I had to find one they would and I’m taking it this semester.

Stony Brook ABSN Class of 2022

Last year the first round of interview invitations were sent out the Monday after Columbus Day weekend! So if they’re sticking to the same schedule, we’ll hopefully hear something on the 19th. AHH so nervous!!

    Binghamton BAT 2021-2022

Oh yeah, I’m a senior at UB now and a lot of my friends are in the nursing program and it seems like a significant number of students drop/fail from the ABSN program and I just don’t get the vibe that the professors care that much about the students. I applied, but now that I already have an acceptance it’s between that program and Binghamton’s. I’m kinda leaning towards the program I got into to despite it being in PA because it’s in slightly longer than Bing’s program (14 months) so the courseload isn’t as bad, they have so many clinical sites since they’re right outside of Philly, and they split the cohort up into 2 groups so class sizes are smaller and we get the one-on-one attention from professors. But Binghamton is slightly cheaper, closer to home, and a really good program too. AHH it’s so hard making decisions (if I even get into Bing)!

Glad to hear some decisions will be out in December! When I talked to them they kept saying “most decisions will be released in January and February”. But I saw last year some people heard back in December, so I’m hoping they’ll do the same thing this year! January is so far away!!

    StonyBrook ABSN: Class of 2021

Last year they didn’t start hearing back until the last week of January and beginning of February.

There’s no specific day I believe, but last year they didn’t hear until late January, early February.

You have 5 days after the deadline to have your letters submitted. So all your LORs should be in by the end of the day on Oct 13th.

    Villanova BSN EXPRESS 2021

Are all of your transcripts received and checked off in your status checker? They should’ve told you during your interview, but you can always call and email the office to ask!

    Villanova BSN EXPRESS 2021

No I’m pretty sure we have to mail in a check like it said in the acceptance letter, which is annoying because I would’ve preferred to pay it online too!

    Villanova BSN EXPRESS 2021

For those of you who paid the seat deposit already, for the recent picture part do we just email the picture to Kristin?

    Villanova BSN EXPRESS 2021

Are they more video/lecture based or reading based? I honestly prefer having someone talk/actually teach me, even if it’s a prerecorded video, instead of simply reading a textbook.

    Villanova BSN EXPRESS 2021

So there’s no due dates with portage? We watch lectures and take lectures whenever we want until we’re done?

    Villanova BSN EXPRESS 2021

Did you feel like it taught you everything pretty well? Like since Patho is such an important course, do you think it prepared you well for later? And I saw that Anatomy & Physiology are pre-requisites for the course on Portage and I’m taking Physiology right now. Do I have to wait until my grades are in before I can register and start? And how do I prove that I took the classes before, send Portage my unofficial transcripts?

Do you know what the cost is to take it at Villanova?
