For all of us applying to UBC's BSN 2016 program, let's communicate, share and give encouragement to one another throughout the process.
I just submitted my general UBC application to get the ball rolling early, and it already gave me access to get started on my supplemental application. This is my second time applying, so I hope to do a better job on my app this year and at least get an interview. But I have also accepted that this may not be my fate and I have other options.
Incidentally, to others who also applied previously: I phoned to make sure all my transcripts were still on file, and they are not! UBC admissions discards everything from last year. So I have six transcripts to send in again (including high school). Expensive and time consuming, and also seems a little crazy in the age of computers that they didn't keep electronic copies. But, we do what we have to do... Good luck everyone!
An advice I heard from a nursing student was to really show your interest and passion in nursing. I also heard it's good to include a short bibliography too.
I was wondering for the education history (300), do you just list your history or do you actually explain and go into details?
Is someone who completed the program already able to tell me (including textbooks, uniforms, supplies, etc.) how much the degree ended up costing them? Trying to budget hoping I get in!
I just got an email back from the nursing admissions. I asked them about the approx. number of applicants this year. The exact number will be available on Feb.1, but for now they said it's around 500 applicants.

Hi! Can anyone confirm if the supplemental is due at 11:59pm on February 1st or 12am on January 31st? And yes, I procrastinate and know that I will be submitting my supplemental last minute hahaha Please help.

I'm trying to finish the last bits for my supplemental...but I'm in doubt if this is really what they're looking for. I feel like I have plenty of experience but I'm not very confident in my writing.
I'm nervous if my writing skills might work against me and I feel like I'm writing cliches and stating the obvious...
No kidding! Same here. I have all sorts of experiences and volunteer works but I struggle in putting them in words. Goodluck!
I had a couple of questions and am hoping you can help. For some of the sections in the application such as leadership roles, working with others, memberships in organizations etc. - is this suppose to be in essay form and are we suppose to relate it to nursing? For example, if I am writing about my leadership roles, will I say I have a role blah and consists of duties such as blah and this is directly related to the nursing field. Hopefully you understand what I am trying to ask!
